The Chiropractic-Acupuncture Assistant is responsible for creating a friendly, welcoming, and well-organized front office for patients and facilitating their flow through one of the TrueCare. The Chiropractic-Acupuncture Assistant is expected to maintain a professional demeanor at the same working as a team to support the Chiropractor and Acupuncturist. The Chiropractic-Acupuncture Assistant will provide administrative and clinical support to the Chiropractor and Acupuncturist, to ensure that the clinic runs optimally.  Responsibilities & Duties:<ul><li>Greeting and welcoming patients upon arrival. </li><li>Ensure reception area is well-maintained, all front desk activities fully operational at the start of business hours.</li><li>Ensuring that the patient waiting area always remains in excellent conditions.</li><li>Patient check-in, collecting and recording patients personal and medical information. </li><li>Answer incoming calls, answer patient or client inquiries, check voicemail and respond to emails timely. </li><li>Prepare exam room for patient by wiping down the table, setting up new table paper and opening chart for provider.</li><li>May assist Chiropractor-Acupuncturist during the exam, or post exam for translation or as in room clinical assistant. </li><li>May assist the Chiropractor-Acupuncturist with patient blood pressure screening assessment as needed. </li><li>Assist Chiropractor-Acupuncturist with patient education, during the exam and post exam, including handing out patient educational materials.</li><li>Manage Chiropractor and Acupuncturist schedules in accordance with TrueCare scheduling guidelines.</li><li>Inform patients of TrueCare services, policies, and procedures.</li><li>Inform patients of costs of care provided. </li><li>Qualify self-pay patients, according to TrueCare protocols, for any available programs the patient qualifies for and accurately enter data into Epic. </li><li>Collect co-payments and fees, issue receipts and post payments according to TrueCare protocols.</li><li>Pre-register, register and schedule patient appointments, confirm patient appointments and recapture missed appointments. </li><li>Assist patients with completion of registration forms, as needed.</li><li>Input collection and insurance information into Epic. Ensure self-pay billing is completed daily.</li><li>Balance daily financial registers and submit data to the billing department; give fees collected to the person responsible for making deposits.</li><li>Review the Agriculture/Migrant question with patients according to current protocol and accurately enter data into Epic.</li><li>Process referrals and apply for continuation of referral(s).</li><li>As appropriate, transfer calls or send tasks through our Electronic Health Record (EHR) to provider staff.</li><li>Monitor and log any problems that occur with the POS device and notify the Information Systems (IS) department immediately.</li></ul>Required Qualifications:<ul><li>High school diploma or equivalent.</li><li>Bilingual in English and Spanish.</li><li>One to three (1 - 3) years experience as a Chiropractic or Acupuncture Assistant, Medical or Dental Receptionist and/or Administrative Assistant. </li><li>Two to four (2 4) years customer service experience.</li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills. </li><li>Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.</li><li>Computer proficiency, particularly with the Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. </li></ul>Desired Qualifications:<ul><li>Associates degree medical billing & Coding, health sciences, office administration. </li><li>Medical Assistant Certificate</li><li>Experience working with EHR.</li><li>Knowledge of healthcare and medical terminology.</li><li>Knowledge of healthcare insurance billing procedures, including ICD-10 and CPT/HCPCS coding conventions and procedures.</li></ul>The pay range for this role is $21 - $26.25 on an hourly basis.  TrueCare is committed to a policy of Equal Employment Opportunity and will not discriminate against an applicant or employee on the basis of race, color, religion, creed, national origin, ancestry, sex, gender, age, physical or mental disability, veteran or military status, genetic information, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, or any other characteristic protected by applicable federal, state, or local law.
