JOB DUTIES:<ul><li>Evaluates and documents quality of finished goods and raw materials </li><li>Reports quality conditions as needed </li><li>Evaluates condition of the manufacturing facility and warehouse space to ensure compliance to regulatory and HACCP requirements </li><li>Audits programs in support of quality objectives </li><li>Maintains a clean and organized working environment </li><li>Follows safety regulations. Participates in process improvement activities. Meets performance schedules </li><li>Maintains product quality through adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Food Safety Preventive Controls, product specifications and quality procedures </li><li>Participates in the maintenance and development of plant quality programs in support of HACCP </li><li>Provides training and education of quality-based programs to manufacturing partners </li><li>Demonstrates and understands safety as a core value and follows the key essentials to safety as set forth by our safety resolution; reinforces and coaches others to do the same </li><li>Understand and follows established safety guidelines, consistently complies with all safety procedures (e.g. PPE, Lock Out Tag Out) </li><li>Supports food safety, legality, and quality programs </li><li>Maintains product quality through adherence to good manufacturing practices, Food Safety Preventative Controls, product specifications and quality procedures. Monitors and documents quality measures using analytical tools </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned. </li></ul>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:<ul><li>High School/GED or one to two years' experience in related field or combination of both education and experience </li><li>Operation of manual and automated analytical equipment (1 year) </li><li>Regulated food manufacturing environment with familiarity of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) standards (1 year) </li><li>Scientific method and report writing (1 year) </li><li>Gathering, recording, and reporting on operational and quality metrics, through manual or automated systems (1 year) </li></ul>ADDITIONAL REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: <ul><li>Mechanical/Technical Aptitude to troubleshoot minor equipment failures and make minor adjustments </li><li>Math skills combined with the ability to perform and understand scientific based tests and results </li><li>Knowledge of computer applications such as Microsoft office, Word, Excel etc. </li><li>Communicate and interact well with others in the laboratory and manufacturing environment </li><li>Able to work over 40 hours, weekends, and flexible hours when business need arises </li><li>Ability to work with minimal supervision and apply common sense of Good Laboratory Practices </li></ul>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: <ul><li>Bachelor's degree in food science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or a related field preferred </li><li>Working knowledge of food safety regulatory requirements and global standards, including Preventive Controls for Human Food (FDA CFR) and Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) </li><li>Experience with GFSI-recognized certification programs such as BRC and/or SQF preferred </li></ul>PHYSICAL DEMANDS & ENVIRONMENTAL HAZARDS:<ul><li>Must be able to lift and/or carry up to 55 lbs. in an occasional manner. </li><li>Must be able to grasp with fingers and hand for extended periods of time in a repetitive motion. </li><li>Must be able to use 3-points of contact when climbing or descending stairs. </li><li>Must be able to stoop, bend at knees, and/or crouch in a repetitive manner. </li><li>Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time. </li><li>Must be able to work in environmental exposure including, but not limited to, freezer and noisy, cold, wet, or humid conditions of 34°F or below. </li><li>Occasional exposure to fumes, airborne particles, toxic, and/or caustic chemicals. </li><li>Occasional material exposure to moving mechanical parts and equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.). </li></ul>WHAT WE OFFER plus more!
