SWCA's San Antonio, TX office offers a unique work environment and a diversified client-base, including generation / renewables, transportation, water infrastructure, oil and gas, and land development. SWCA Environmental Consultants is seeking temporary Cultural Resources Technicians for our San Antonio, TX office to assist on projects based in the Oklahoma, Texas, and Arkansas area. The schedule requires extensive travel subject to variable hours and schedules.  Application deadline: Our team will begin reviewing applications immediately, and interviews will be scheduled with qualified candidates on a rolling basis. We appreciate the time and effort invested by all applicants and will carefully consider each submission.  <h4>What you will accomplish</h4><ul><li>Assist with conducting archaeological fieldwork (including pedestrian survey, site identification, site recording / data collection, monitoring and data recovery excavations).</li><li>Conduct fieldwork for long hours in various environments including, but not limited to, extreme temperatures, inclement weather, and rugged terrain.</li><li>Accurately identify historic and prehistoric artifacts and features.</li><li>Assist with cultural resource records searches, laboratory analysis tasks, and other office work, as needed.</li><li>Adhere to the safety program and look out for the safety of others, promptly communicating and mitigating safety hazards.</li><li>Work independently in a responsible manner.</li><li>Work as a productive member of a team and follow the direction of the field supervisor.</li></ul><h4>Experience and qualifications for success</h4><ul><li>High school diploma or equivalent and 6 months of relevant experience </li></ul>Preferred:<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree or higher in Anthropology, Archaeology, or a related field, preferred.</li><li>An accredited Field School, preferred.</li><li>Experience with a range of field methodologies; including survey, testing, excavation, and heavy equipment or ground disturbing activity monitoring is preferred.</li><li>Must have a valid driver's license, the ability to pass a Motor Vehicle background screening, and have access to reliable transportation.</li><li>Able to carry equipment and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds.</li><li>Available for fieldwork on local projects and for fieldwork requiring extended travel (staying in a hotel for up to 2 weeks at a time). </li></ul>Why Work at SWCA:SWCA Environmental Consultants is a growing employee-owned firm, providing a full-spectrum of environmental services.  Our Vision (the North Star) is to make SWCA the best workplace and industry leader in sustainability, bringing sound science and creative solutions to global environmental challenges while maintaining a dedication to employee-ownership. We live our core values: we collaborate as #OneSWCA; we are #AlwaysLearning, we #NeverSettle, and we #GiveBack. We are 100% employee-owned, and we build our success together. A Cultural Resources Technician in this San Antonio based position can expect an hourly rate of $19.31 - $25.49/hr.
