This hands-on leadership role oversees first and second shift transportation services, with primary working hours of 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM. Overview:
We have an immediate need for an experienced Transportation Construction Inspection Supervisor.

Responsibilities:
<ul><li>Knowledge of the principles and methods applied in inspecting and testing construction materials.</li><li>Knowledge of engineering principles and practices applied in highway and bridge construction.</li><li>Knowledge of the use of materials and their placement in construction.</li><li>Knowledge of the stages in construction when possible defects and violations may be most easily observed and corrected.</li><li>Knowledge of basic geometry and trigonometry.</li><li>Knowledge of employee contract provisions effecting the work organization.</li><li>Knowledge of the principles of records maintenance, staff utilization, and bargaining contract administration.</li><li>Knowledge of the principles and practices of safety applicable to the work performed by the unit.</li><li>Ability to effectively supervise employees.</li><li>Ability to plan, organize, assign, and evaluate the work of subordinates.</li><li>Ability to interpret and explain construction codes, plans, and specifications, and to enforce compliance with them.</li><li>Ability to prepare and/or review cost estimates and technical reports.</li><li>Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, contractors, and public officials contacted in the work.</li><li>Ability to work under adverse weather conditions and on hazardous terrain.</li></ul>
