Job Description Chegg is seeking a Business Operations Lead to serve as a key strategic and operational partner to the GM of Chegg Academic Services. This role will act as the GM's right hand on business and operational matters, helping to establish operational discipline, identify strategic points of leverage, and drive initiatives that deliver meaningful business results. This is a high-impact role for someone who is equally comfortable thinking strategically and driving execution. The right person will bring structure to ambiguity, help the organization operate with rigor, and work across functions to keep the business focused on what matters most. You should be energized by solving complex problems, improving how teams operate, and turning analysis into action. We are looking for someone with 4+ years of experience in investment banking, consulting, private equity, high-performing tech companies, or a combination of these environments. What You'll Do <ul><li>Serve as a strategic and operational right hand to the GM of Chegg Academic Services </li><li>Help establish operating discipline across the business through strong planning, prioritization, performance tracking, and follow-through </li><li>Identify the highest-leverage opportunities to improve business performance and help translate them into action </li><li>Drive key operating rhythms, including leadership meetings, business reviews, KPI tracking, planning processes, and cross-functional follow-ups </li><li>Partner closely with Product, Finance, Analytics, Marketing, Operations, Support, and other teams to drive alignment and execution </li><li>Build analyses, forecasts, business cases, dashboards, and executive-ready materials to support decision-making </li><li>Lead special projects and cross-functional initiatives on behalf of the GM </li><li>Help assess tradeoffs, prioritize resources, and ensure the organization is focused on the work that drives the greatest business return </li><li>Spot issues early, structure problems clearly, and help drive practical solutions </li><li>Translate high-level business goals into clear workstreams, ownership, and measurable outcomes </li></ul>What We're Looking For <ul><li>4+ years of experience in investment banking, consulting, private equity, operating roles at a high-performing tech company, or a combination of these environments </li><li>Strong analytical horsepower and business judgment </li><li>Excellent problem-solving skills and structured thinking </li><li>Strong financial and operational intuition, with the ability to connect analysis to action </li><li>Exceptional written and verbal communication skills </li><li>Ability to influence across teams and levels without relying on formal authority </li><li>High ownership, strong attention to detail, and comfort operating in fast-moving, ambiguous environments </li><li>Proven ability to drive cross-functional work and get things done </li><li>Low ego, high capacity, and willingness to step into whatever the business needs most </li></ul>Preferred Qualifications <ul><li>Experience in strategy, business operations, strategic finance, consulting, private equity, or general management </li><li>Experience working closely with senior leaders on high-priority business matters </li><li>Experience in tech, consumer internet, subscription, education, marketplace, or digital product businesses </li><li>Comfort moving between strategic questions and day-to-day operational execution </li><li>Track record of identifying leverage points and converting them into measurable business impact </li></ul>Why This Role This is a unique opportunity to work directly with the GM of Chegg Academic Services in a role with broad exposure across the business. The base salary pay range for this position is $108,000 to $163,200. Although this range represents the full range for the position, the actual pay will vary within this range based on geographic location, job type, professional experience, and other factors.
