This position will primarily consist of design engineering efforts with field exposure on a variety of transportation projects for State, County, and Local Agencies. A knowledge of designing roadway, drainage, and underground improvements with Geopak/OpenRoads Designer is preferred. This team-orientated position will include working with Baxter & Woodman’s diverse disciplines and offices within the transportation and construction fields. What your day-to-day will look like<ul><li>Design Roadway, Drainage, Underground Utility, and Infrastructure improvements using Geopak/OpenRoads Designer.</li><li>Conduct drainage, traffic, and various engineering studies.</li><li>Complete general civil engineering services for municipal, county and state clients.</li><li>Complete engineering plans and specifications using IDOT Standards.</li><li>Assist senior staff with client management, project pursuits, and business development.</li><li>Assist project engineers and managers by making significant decisions on a wide variety of tasks required during project delivery.</li><li>Coordinate construction activities with clients, inspectors, contractors and public agencies.</li><li>Conduct on-site observation of work, repairs, and tests as needed.</li><li>Assist with maintaining job site records of daily reports, job meeting minutes, approved drawings, and pay requests as needed.</li></ul>Education/License Requirements<ul><li>B.S. degree in Civil Engineering</li></ul>Must-haves, what you will bring<ul><li>At least 2 years of relevant job experience working on municipal or highway agency transportation projects.</li><li>Work within a team-first culture that encourages individual development and accomplishment of goals.</li><li>Ability to travel throughout Baxter & Woodman’s service area (own transportation).</li><li>Ability to independently handle a variety of ongoing tasks and responsibilities.</li><li>Strong written, verbal, computer and organizational skills.</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications<ul><li>E.I.T (Engineer in Training) certification.</li><li>P.E. (Professional Engineer) license. </li></ul>Compensation - The pay range for this role is $83,000 to $100,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, and certifications.You matter!
