The Transportation Senior Project Manager is supported by a department of professionals to take the lead on managing successful projects that meet or exceed client expectations while meeting JEO’s financial goals. This individual will have the ability to support client management and business development endeavors as well.Responsibilities and Duties<ul><li>Develop and implement project plans for transportation engineering projects, considering timelines, budgets, and resources</li><li>Lead a project team of engineers and technicians, assigning tasks, providing guidance and mentorship while fostering a collaborative and positive work environment</li><li>Collaborate with clients, government agencies, contractors and other stakeholders to understand project requirements while maintaining strong client relationships and meeting client expectations</li><li>Prepare project proposals, scopes of service and cost estimates for a diverse portfolio of project types</li><li>Manage budgets, schedules, bids, contracts, funding requests and communication plans</li><li>Coordinate various aspects of transportation engineering projects including design, construction, and implementation activities</li></ul>Required Qualifications<ul><li>Bachelor's degree in civil/transportation engineering</li><li>Professional Engineer (PE) license</li><li>8+ years' experience working in the engineering industry on municipal transportation projects</li></ul>With offices throughout the Midwest, JEO is proud to offer a robust benefits package designed to support and protect our employees and their loved ones. You organize schedules, communicate updates, verify documents, and help prevent common dispatch issues.  Equivalent annual range: $45,000–$62,000/year</li></ul><h2> What You Do</h2><h3>Driver & Dispatch Assistance</h3><ul><li>Provide drivers with updated instructions, addresses, and appointment times</li><li>Track ETAs, delays, breakdowns, and HOS considerations</li><li>Help drivers resolve road issues quickly and professionally</li></ul><h3>Load Coordination</h3><ul><li>Confirm pickup and delivery appointments</li><li>Track loads and provide real-time updates to brokers/shippers</li><li>Verify BOLs, PODs, and ensure the freight matches the bill (prevent wrong-load issues)</li></ul><h3>Time Management</h3><ul><li>Estimate realistic load/unload times</li><li>Prevent overscheduling and tight back-to-back appointment windows</li></ul><h3>Documentation</h3><ul><li>Upload all paperwork into the TMS</li><li>Track detention, layover, and TONU opportunities</li><li>Keep clean, accurate load notes</li></ul><h3>Customer & Broker Communication</h3><ul><li>Send check calls and status updates</li><li>Notify brokers of changes or delays</li><li>Maintain positive, professional relationships with shippers/brokers</li></ul><h2> Skills Needed</h2><ul><li>Clear communication</li><li>Attention to detail</li><li>Ability to multitask under pressure</li><li>Strong organizational skills</li><li>Basic familiarity with load boards / TMS (training available)</li></ul><h2> Why This Role Is Perfect for Future Dispatchers</h2>This job teaches the exact skills used by:
