As a Transportation Engineer, you will be responsible for a variety of projects, taking ownership from start to finish. </div><br/><h3>What are the core responsibilities for the role?</h3><br/><ul><li>Design and analysis of freeways, interstate highways, interchanges, urban and rural roadways, and shared-use trails</li><li>Prepare studies, reports, plans, specifications, and cost estimates for a wide variety of transportation projects</li><li>Coordinate and work with a team of project managers, design engineers, technicians, and support staff to successfully complete a variety of projects</li><li>Lead a project team consisting of engineers, designers, and field personnel involved in the design, modification, analysis, and constructability of water systems</li><li>Coordinate and conduct meetings with project stakeholders</li><li>Coordinate with office management and other project managers to share resources</li><li>Assist in proposal preparation including oral presentations. Also prepare the scope, schedule, and budget for new projects</li><li>Interface with clients including state and local agencies</li><li>Work on challenging assignments that include investigating, troubleshooting, and solving a wide variety of engineering and construction-related issues</li><li>Prepare, review, and/or approve proposals, contracts, or cost estimates</li><li>Negotiate revisions, changes, and additions to contractual agreements with sub-consultants, and clients</li><li>Lead efforts to ensure projects are completed satisfactorily, on time, and within budget.</li><li>Coordinate design activities to ensure installation and operations will comply with specifications, codes, and client requirements</li><li>Prepare reports and studies that present technical information in a clear and concise manner and meet client requirements</li><li>Perform independent reviews of work performed by others including calculations and drawing preparation</li><li>Take ownership of projects from start to finish</li></ul><br/><h3>Qualifications, Skills, and Competencies: </h3><br/><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college or university</li><li>5+ years experience with plan preparation procedures and standards</li><li>5+ years experience in Transportation</li><li>Professional Civil Engineering certification (P.E.)</li><li>Knowledge and experience with Bentley OpenRoads Designer, and other applicable software common to the field of transportation engineering</li><li>Excellent written and oral communication skills Willingness to work on projects locally or in workshare with other offices</li><li>Possess a proven history of meeting project deadlines and budgets</li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills with clients, staff, and management</li><li>Self-motivated, detail-oriented professional with strong organizational skills</li><li>A desire to grow personally and professionally with each project while working in a team environment to create designs and drawings supporting our client's overall project goal</li></ul><br/><h3>Why would a candidate want this job? </h3><br/><div><strong>At Horrocks, you can expect a competitive base salary and award-winning benefits.
