This role involves handling raw materials, performing routine maintenance, and participating in improvement projects to enhance operations. <h3>Responsibilities:</h3><ul class="list-disc pl-8"><li>Operate and maintain foam machinery, ensuring proper setup, cleanup, and upkeep.</li><li>Handle and measure raw materials accurately.</li><li>Perform routine machine maintenance and preventative maintenance (PMs).</li><li>Troubleshoot issues and implement independent solutions.</li><li>Read, write, and perform mathematical computations, including fractions, ratios, weights, and percentages.</li><li>Use tools such as tape measures, knives, hand tools, power tools, and 10-key calculators.</li><li>Maintain accurate records and reports using computers and filing systems.</li><li>Communicate effectively with team members regarding production issues and solutions.</li><li>Work in varying environmental conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and inclement weather.</li><li>Wear required safety gear, including rain suits, face shields, respirators, and gloves when necessary.</li><li>Perform physical tasks such as climbing, crouching, lifting, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, and repetitive motions.</li></ul><h3> </h3><h3>Qualifications:</h3><ul class="list-disc pl-8"><li>Ability to read, write, and perform basic math calculations.</li><li>Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.</li><li>Experience with clerical functions such as typing, 10-key, and data entry is a plus.</li><li>Previous experience in manufacturing, chemical production, or a similar field preferred.</li><li>Must be comfortable working in conditions that may affect respiratory systems or skin sensitivity.</li></ul>

Position Summary: ADM is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Part Time Scale Clerk to support grain operations at our Hutchinson, KS Grain Elevator during the harvest season. This frontline role plays a key part in managing the flow of inbound and outbound grain trucks, ensuring accurate weights, grades, and data entry in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment. The ideal candidate is organized, professional, and able to multitask effectively during peak volume periods. Key Responsibilities: Duties may include, but are not limited to: + Weighing inbound and outbound trucks using computerized scale systems and ensuring accurate weight documentation + Grading grain in accordance with company and regulatory standards + Entering load data and transaction details into ADM’s system with accuracy and timeliness + Answering incoming calls, routing inquiries, and providing general information to drivers and customers + Filing and maintaining paperwork, load records, and other administrative documents + Communicating with operations staff and truck drivers to coordinate product movement and resolve issues + Following ADM’s safety protocols, company policies, and procedures at all times Qualifications & Requirements: Required: + Must be 18 years of age or older + Commitment to ADM’s goal of achieving a zero-injury safety culture, including adherence to all safety policies, procedures, and use of PPE + Ability to exhibit regular and prompt attendance during seasonal peak periods + Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and extended hours as needed + Comfortable working both independently and in a team environment + Ability to maintain a professional and respectful attitude, especially under pressure + Comfortable using a telephone for extended periods + Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb stairs, and work in various conditions including heat, cold, dust, and non-climate-controlled environments + Ability to wear a respirator when required Preferred: + High school diploma or GED + Prior experience in agriculture, administrative support, or customer service roles + Basic computer skills, including data entry and familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel + Experience with common office equipment such as copiers, scanners, and fax machines + Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Work Environment: + This role is located at an active grain elevator and involves both indoor and outdoor work. + Candidates should be prepared to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, especially during harvest, and interact with truck drivers and plant personnel throughout the day. The Lab Assistant is responsible for performing pre-analytical laboratory functions such as specimen receipt from on and off campus locations, either hand-delivered or sent via pneumatic tube; transporting specimens to other sections in the laboratory for testing and communication with other staff, in one or more areas of the clinical laboratory, including: Microbiology, Specimen Collection & Processing Department, and Cytology.This position performs inventory management functions and other non-specimen, pre-analytical tasks, such as assisting with cleaning non-testing equipment, eyewash safety checks, etc.Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions:Receives specimens into the laboratory either through the pneumatic tube system or hand delivered to the core laboratory for testing.Ensures specimens received are properly labeled with positive patient identification, have correct volume and have been centrifuged (if needed) prior to delivery.Distributes specimens to the appropriate department. Sorts specimens by priority, location and tube type, and ensures STAT specimens received from the Emergency Department, Codes, Surgery and Intensive Care Units are expedited through the system.Performs data entry in Laboratory information system according to hospital and laboratory policies and procedures, as well as compliance requirementsProvides patients (and/or care provider) with instructions and necessary materials, if required, for specimen collection.Disposes of biohazardous materials, and other potentially hazardous materials according to policy and strictly adheres to safety and infection control proceduresCommunicates specimen problems to Specimen Processing Specialist.Communicates non-specimen problems to department supervisor.Assists with troubleshooting delays in STAT specimens getting loaded on the automation line or getting delivered to the individual testing department.Understands the importance of all pre-analytical variables including, but not limited to: positive patient identification, correct container type, specimen conditions and integrity and how they affect laboratory results.Performs inventory management functions for other sections in the Core Laboratory, such as receiving vendor supply orders, verifying accuracy of packing slip with order slip, placing supply and reagent orders in proper location ensuring short dates are used first.Maintains chemical inventory for department and ensures that most current MSDS is uploaded into online system as assigned.Fills outside supply orders for off-campus clinics and prepares for shipment.Uses and wears PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) as necessary to perform job safely and minimize risk.Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.These statements are intended to describe the essential functions of the job and are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities.
