Part-Time Assessment Center Proctor Hourly Rate: $19.54 This position is an on-campus, part-time, up-to 19-hour appointment based in Champaign, Illinois. The Part-Time Assessment Center Proctor assists with the coordination of operations for the high-stakes/vendor testing division of the Assessment Center. This includes managing check-in and check-out of examinees; administering and/or proctoring a wide variety of assessments; including paper, computer, and internet-based examinations; maintaining detailed records in accordance with federal, state, and campus regulations; performing data entry; and providing administrative and clerical support associated with high-stakes/vendor testing to the Director. The Assessment Center Proctor is a part-time, 19 hour-or-less appointment on a schedule established by the Director of Assessment. Internal and external events occasionally necessitate an altered work schedule. The Assessment Center is open Monday through Friday year-round, except when Parkland College is closed (e.g., Winter Break). Applicants must submit: <ul><li> An online employment application </li><li> Cover letter </li><li> Resume or CV </li><li> </li></ul>Essential Job Functions: <ul><li>Administer and proctor exams; generate score reports, record tests, update/maintain vendor testing procedure documentation, and upload score results for candidates. </li><li>Become certified as a High Stakes/Vendor Testing Proctor for companies such as Pearson, PSI, FAA and Meazure; expand test training/proctoring to Parkland departments; Health Professions Dental Hygiene, Business Training Community Education. </li><li>Preserve current and historical examinee test records. </li><li>Scan/upload vendor required documentation. </li><li>Export electronic rosters from vendor portals. </li><li>Coordinate, track, and display High Stakes testing appointments on a daily basis. </li><li>Follow check-in/testing procedures for examinees as outlined by clients; seat candidates appropriately, per testing room layout. </li><li>Mail secure documents to vendors. </li><li>Determine which exams an individual is qualified to take. </li><li>Provide appropriate guidance in regard to timely and efficient completion of all requirements. </li><li>Maintain test security and examinee confidentiality at all times. </li><li>Maintain appropriate inventory levels to sustain operations, typing, filing, and photocopying, faxing, inventories of testing bulletins, and other duties as assigned. </li><li>Create, file, and update incident reports associated with vendor requirements. </li><li>Communicate with relevant vendors regarding admission issues, technical issues, and emergencies. </li><li>Other duties as assigned. </li><li> </li></ul>Minimum Requirements: <ul><li>Bachelor's degree OR Associate degree and three (3) years' equivalent work experience in testing, higher education, office setting OR an equivalent combination of related education and work experience. </li><li>Must be at least 21 years old. </li><li>Prospective new hires will successfully complete a post offer, pre-employment criminal background check with fingerprinting. The background check review includes, but is not limited to, exclusionary offenses per the Illinois School Code and Title IV of the Higher Education Act. </li><li>Pass a 5-year federal background check. </li><li>Candidates must be U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents due to federal staffing requirements. </li><li>Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. </li><li>Effectively communicate with a diverse clientele, including individuals with English as a second language. </li><li>Ability to interact professionally and competently with other Parkland staff, other universities' staff, state certification boards, and national testing services to ensure a high-quality testing program. </li><li>Ability to manage a computer lab and troubleshoot common technical problems. </li><li>Functional capacity in the Microsoft Office Suite programs, with the ability to learn the Parkland information system, computerized testing system, and new programs as technology changes. </li><li>Written and verbal English skills and mathematical abilities sufficient to perform the functions of the position. </li><li>Dependable, adaptable, efficient, and able to work well under pressure. </li><li>Ability to effectively deal with a wide variety of situations, some potentially stressful. </li><li>A keen ability to observe individuals and react quickly and appropriately when necessary. </li><li>In an effort to comply with SURS return-to-work restrictions for employers (40 ILCS 5/15-139.5), candidates for employment at Parkland College must either not be a SURS annuitant or must be willing to suspend his/her SURS annuity upon employment.
