The Department of Family Medicine at Care New England, a major clinical affiliate of the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, seeks an accomplished researcher to serve as Associate Chair of Research. The department runs the Family Medicine clerkship for Brown and operates the Brown Family Medicine Residency Program—the only Family Medicine residency in Rhode Island—training 48 residents across two sites. We also offer Global Health and Diabetology Fellowships.Our research portfolio spans global health, cardiometabolic clinical trials and epidemiology, and mixed methods research. We are developing a center focused on informatics and learning from electronic medical records data using causal inference methods. Brown University holds the contract for the Annals of Family Medicine, providing unique opportunities for scholarly collaboration.The Vice Chair will lead the research division, develop research strategy, mentor faculty and trainees, oversee the Clinical Trials Unit, and maintain an active externally funded research program. This position reports directly to the Chair of Family Medicine.Major Responsibilities<ul><li>Research Leadership and Administration (20%)</li><li>Lead the research division and provide strategic direction for all departmental research initiatives</li><li>Supervise department research staff including coordinators, data analysts, and administrative personnel</li><li>Oversee the Clinical Trials Unit, ensuring regulatory compliance and operational excellence</li><li>Represent the department on research committees within Care New England and Brown University</li><li>Manage the research budget and ensure compliance with IRB, data security, and ethics standards</li><li>Mentorship, Faculty Development, and Grant Writing (20%)</li><li>Mentor junior researchers inluding faculty, fellows, residents, and students in research methodology and grant writing</li><li>Support faculty in developing competitive grant applications for federal, state, and foundation funding</li><li>Foster collaborative research partnerships within the department and across institutions</li><li>Develop research training programs and establish metrics for evaluating research productivity</li><li>Apply for and secure competitive grant funding from federal agencies (NIH, AHRQ, HRSA, CDC, PCORI) and foundations</li><li>Scholarly Activity and External Funding</li><li>Maintain an active, externally funded research program in Family Medicine-relevant areas</li><li>Publish in major peer-reviewed original research journals, including Family Medicine journals, such as Annals of Family Medicine, JABFM, and Family Medicine</li><li>Present at national Family Medicine conferences (NAPCRG, STFM, AAFP)</li><li>Participate in peer review for journals and grant funding agencies</li></ul>Required Qualifications<ul><li>MD, DO, PhD, or equivalent doctoral degree from an accredited institution</li><li>For MD/DO with clinical responsibilities: Family Medicine residency, ABFM board certification, RI license (or eligibility)</li><li>Eligible for Brown University faculty appointment at Associate Professor or Professor rank</li><li>Demonstrated track record of federally funded research in Family Medicine or related health services research</li><li>Minimum 5 years conducting independent research with sustained external funding</li><li>Proven experience mentoring junior faculty, fellows, and trainees in research</li><li>Record of publications in peer-reviewed journals</li><li>Experience with research administration and program leadership</li></ul>Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:<ul><li>Expert knowledge of research methodologies including quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods approaches</li><li>Strong understanding of federal grant mechanisms and compliance requirements</li><li>Excellent written and oral communication skills</li><li>Strong leadership and team management abilities</li><li>Commitment to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive research environment</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications<ul><li><ul><li>Current or recent NIH or other federal research funding as Principal Investigator</li><li>Experience leading clinical trials or serving as site PI for multi-center studies</li><li>Expertise in clinical informatics, causal inference methods, or electronic medical records data analysis</li><li>Experience with community-engaged research or practice-based research networks</li><li>National recognition as a thought leader in Family Medicine research</li><li>Established network of collaborators in Family Medicine research</li></ul></li></ul>Life in Rhode Island, the “Ocean State” provides endless outdoor activities and?four seasons, a fabulous &?dynamic culinary and arts scene, numerous?top tier schools,?an international airport?voted 1st in the US by Travel & Leisure in 2025 and all just a?1 hour drive to Boston, 3 hours to NYC, and less than 6 hours to Montreal. Ideal candidates will be ready to grow their career in facilities and office services, and to take advantage of internal opportunities at IST Management for training and development toward advancement into full-time and management roles. The Opportunity:This is a part-time role with IST Management Services, performing Mail Services-related work at a local University in Providence.  Hours will range from M-F 7:00 AM- 5:00 PM, and Saturdays 9:30 AM to 2:00 PM.  Site location will be in the Providence, RI area. This is a great entry-level opportunity for individuals who are looking to expand their computer/software knowledge, hone their customer service skills, and have the potential to advance within an organization that has 18 locations and over 110 positions in the Providence/Boston area.This is also a great opportunity for someone who only wants to work 10-30 hours per week, in a nice environment.During peak periods at the location, there are opportunities to work more hours, if the candidates are interested.Hourly Compensation: $17.00- $18.50 USD 

Responsibilities:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:<ul><li>Mailroom services- scanning/sorting/delivery of mail and packages on campus to appropriate client personnel - primarily, University Students</li><li>Learn package locker loading work-flows, and learn that entire process.</li><li>Training as necessary</li><li>Adhere to all safety procedures</li><li>Tasks as assigned by supervisor</li></ul>

Qualifications:
