Working under the direction of the Associate Vice President for Alumni & Donor Engagement and designated professional staff, the University Assistant assists with day-to-day activities that support alumni engagement initiatives, donor communications, and advancement-related projects. The position contributes to the coordination of engagement efforts that foster meaningful connections between the University and its alumni, donors, students, and campus partners.Position Responsibilities• Assists with administrative and operational support for alumni relations, donor relations, and annual giving initiatives.
• Provides limited support for digital and web-based communications, including assisting with content updates and distribution using platforms such as MyEmma, ThankView, Hustle, and the University website under staff direction.
• Assists with basic data-related tasks within systems such as Raisers Edge NXT and other advancement platforms, including data entry, list preparation, and running pre-defined reports as directed by professional staff.
• Provides support for Institutional Advancement events, including assisting with event preparation materials, registration processes, and day-of logistics.
• Assists with drafting and editing routine communications, such as emails, invitations, and short announcements for alumni and donor audiences, subject to review by professional staff.
• Assists professional staff with coordinating assigned student workers by helping distribute tasks and monitoring completion of routine assignments.
• May assist professional staff with coordinating the work of student workers as assigned.
• Performs other related duties as assigned that support the overall goals of Alumni & Donor Engagement.Minimum Qualifications Required• Demonstrated knowledge and ability in the use of personal computer equipment and standard office software, such as Microsoft Office Suite.

Overview:
Barnes & Noble College is seeking a creative, driven, adaptable, and customer-focused team member to work every week, year round for at least 30 hours each week as a full-time Supervisor in the General Merchandise department. The Supervisor in GM may assist customers with school supplies, electronics, dorm, convenience, gifts, and clothing while assisting the management team with the daily operation of the store. You will be a subject matter expert for the GM, but must also remain knowledgeable of other operational areas to provide outstanding customer service.

Responsibilities:
A Supervisor in General Merchandise will need a high level of energy to work in a multi-faceted department ensuring the appeal of the selling floor and displays and the availability of merchandise.  You must be knowledgeable about department and store operations, and provide outstanding customer service to the academic and co-curricular community. Expectations:<ul><li>Maintain a presence on the sales floor to hang, fold, shelve, peg merchandise to a particular standard using a planogram or general merchandising guidelines. </li><li>Ability to use department specific technology such as CORE or Intrepid to answer questions, recommend products, place orders, locate items, search inventory, or meet customer needs.</li><li>Greet customers, describe merchandise, recommend products, and finalize sales.</li><li>Clean the store and merchandise to maintain an appealing sales floor.</li><li>Assist with processing sales transactions involving cash, credit, or financial aid payments.</li><li>Full-time positions require availability to work at least 30 hours on a weekly basis year round.  Schedules may be set or vary to meet the needs of the store.</li><li>Routine housekeeping including, for example, dusting, mopping, window cleaning, vacuuming, trash removal.</li></ul> Physical Demands:<ul><li>Frequent movement within the store to access various departments, areas, and/or products.</li><li>Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods.</li><li>Frequent lifting.</li><li>Occasional reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders. </li></ul>Connecticut Pay Transparency Information (Only applicable in Connecticut stores): Pay: Full-time General Merchandising Supervisor pay range $19.00/hour. Qualifications:
<ul><li>2+ years’ experience in a retail setting preferred or a graduate of the Best Seller Program.</li><li>Candidates must be a minimum of 18 years of age to be considered for employment.</li><li>Outstanding customer service skills to match customers to products that meet their needs.</li><li>High-energy, friendly personality, with strong communication skills to interact with a variety of people.</li><li>Basic reading, writing and accounting skills required.</li><li>Strong interpersonal, creativity, and problem solving skills.</li><li>Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.</li></ul>
