Waste Connections is looking for a Fleet Maintenance Supervisor to help lead our team in Wichita, KS! This role is a developmental position with the goal of promotion into a Fleet Manager position.<br/><br/><br/>Position Responsibilities:<br/><br/><br/>+ This is a 1st and 2nd shift position.<br/><br/>+ Split time equally between 1st and 2nd shift. 26 weeks on each respective shift opposite of their co- supervisor.<br/><br/>+ The time working on 2nd shift will be directly leading the team during daily work orders, preventative maintenance and all items related to team and equipment.<br/><br/>+ Ensure adequate training of mechanics on all shifts.<br/><br/>+ Assign, review and ensure proper completion of repair orders by all technicians, this will be done daily utilizing RTA and other tracking methods.<br/><br/>+ Provides Training and assists Mechanics on methods for diagnosing and repairing vehicles and equipment.<br/><br/>+ Work with Maintenance Manager to provide daily communications to operations on available trucks and trucks out of service for repair and other operational needs.<br/><br/>+ Shadow and train with maintenance manager on Waste Connections top shop program, and other compliance programs.<br/><br/>+ Promote collaboration between and among all employees on the campus.<br/><br/>+ Responsible to work with parts clerk daily to ensure technician needs are met.<br/><br/>+ Communicates regularly with the District Maintenance Manager and all shop personnel, daily documented tailgates.<br/><br/>+ Assists in monthly financial projections and adheres to monthly and annual budget guidelines.<br/><br/>+ Perform quality control inspection and work observations.<br/><br/>+ Perform fleet inspections with operations team.<br/><br/>+ Ensures adherence to the corporate safety program.<br/><br/>+ Work with the maintenance manager to help develop the skills necessary to become a supervisor or maintenance manager at another Waste Connections District.<br/><br/><br/>Knowledge and Skills:<br/><br/><br/>+ Must have excellent working knowledge of DOT compliance requirements.<br/><br/>+ Must have ability to motivate staff to meet corp., region, division, and district objectives.<br/><br/>+ Must have excellent organizational, analytical and communication skills.<br/><br/><br/>Requirements:<br/><br/><br/>+ 3+ years mechanic experience with truck, light or heavy equipment maintenance and repair. In this position, you will lead the planning, optimization, maintenance, and lifecycle management of the company's fleet and physical assets.
