We are centered on caring for the whole person – with expert medical care, pain management as well as emotional and spiritual support along with resources, information, and emotional support for families and caregivers.<h3>About the role:</h3>The volunteer provides patient care and support services according to his/her experience and training and in compliance with organization policies. <h3>Job Responsibilities: </h3><ol><li>Serves as an integral member of the interdisciplinary group amid various settings: home care; respite; inpatient, bereavement, and/or administrative; office duties.</li><li>Participates in general orientation.</li><li>Serves the patient and family/caregiver under the guidance of the Volunteer Coordinator and Case Manager or as a part of the administrative team.</li><li>Serves as substitute family/caregiver in the home performing activities that the volunteer has been prepared for and has agreed to perform.  The volunteer may do homemaker chores, run errands, and provide respite care as well.</li><li>Documents as educated and instructed maintaining confidentiality.</li><li>Meets all health requirements set by Luminary Hospice.</li><li>Provides availability regularly and/or keeping with the patient and family/caregiver needs.</li><li>Participates in volunteer support groups and/or educational in-services.</li><li>Maintains open communication and reports regularly to the Volunteer Coordinator.</li><li>Assignment of other duties (as needed) directed by the Volunteer Coordinator.</li><li>Participates in quality assessment performance improvement teams and activities.</li><li>Participates in interdisciplinary group meetings, as appropriate.  </li></ol><h3>Job Qualifications: </h3><ol><li>Mature individual, supportive of the hospice concept, comfortable with his/her spirituality, and willing to serve others in a volunteer capacity.</li><li>Surviving family members: must meet ayear's waiting period after the patient's death to participate in direct patient care or public relations activities.</li><li>Successful completion of the hospice's volunteer training and orientation program.</li><li>Previous volunteer experience may be helpful.</li><li>Ability to work within an interdisciplinary group.</li><li>If making home visits, must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state or organization requirements and is in good working order. </li></ol><h3> Physical Demands:</h3>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Job Summary: The Pantry Coordinator acts as the first point of contact for the organization by assisting clients in the Pantry drive-through distribution area.  Responsibilities also include serving as the primary point person in the organization of the pantry and the operations of the pantry as well. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:<ol><li style="margin-left:8px">Greet clients as they arrive, ensure they provide proper documentation and check them in utilizing computer software.  Ensure all clients’ needs are met with respect, compassion, and dignity.</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Ensures proper food handling procedures are being followed by checking dates, stocking, storing, rotating, and checking temperature of coolers and freezers.</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Demonstrates a professional demeanor in all interactions with clients, volunteers, and colleagues.</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Works with volunteers that assist in the pantry and provide them with direction and ensure they have an excellent experience while volunteering.</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Ensures efficiency in the overall function of the pantry and any interactions with the warehouse in coordination with the Assistant Warehouse Manager.</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Always maintains a clean work area with moderate to heavy cleaning duties.</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Creates flyers and signage for distribution through the Pantry.</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Conducts other duties as assigned by the supervisor.</li></ol> Minimum Qualifications for Education, Training and Experience:<ul><li>High school diploma or equivalent required.</li><li>Moderate to advanced computer and phone skills (Microsoft software applications) required. </li><li>Ability to provide excellent customer service.</li><li>Prior retail and customer service preferred but not required.</li><li>Ability to operate or learn how to operate an electric pallet jack.</li><li>Bilingual preferred but not required.</li></ul> Required Background, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:<ul><li style="margin-left:8px">Self-starter who is motivated and can anticipate what needs to be done and follow through until all work is satisfactorily completed.</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Ability to work with diverse groups with a team approach and successful results.</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Ability to be a strong team player, work independently and collaborate with others as appropriate.</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Demonstrated problem-solving skills.</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Must have high integrity and a strong work ethic with an emphasis on consistent attendance.</li><li>Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Ability to obtain Serv-Safe Food Handlers certification.</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.</li></ul>Working Conditions: This position requires moderate physical work, must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, redistribution of handling of food is required.  Must be able to stand and/or walk on concrete floors as well as in areas of extreme hot or cold weather for extended periods of time.
