<ul><li>Join as an Administrative / Organizational Volunteer!<ul><li>Support our care team behind the scenes by helping in our offices (light data entry, assembling packets, sending cards to family members), organizing special memories for patients, sewing memory bears or blankets, and more. Your support can make a big impact!</li></ul></li><li>Become a Patient Care Volunteer!<ul><li> Visit patients to offer companionship and give caregivers a break. Activities include reading, hobbies, playing games, and listening. Make a difference in someone's day!</li></ul></li><li>Bring happiness as a Pet Therapy Volunteer! <ul><li>Share the love of your Certified Therapy Pet with patients.  No hospice experience is needed, just a certified and vaccinated pet. Your visits can bring immense joy and emotional support.</li></ul></li><li>Share Your Talent as a Musician Volunteer! <ul><li>Use your musical gifts to brighten patients' days and provide comfort to our healthcare staff. Your music can be a source of peace and joy.</li></ul></li><li>Serve as a Veteran Volunteer! <ul><li>Connect with fellow veterans, provide companionship, and participate in meaningful ceremonies. Your unique insights can help support and honor our veteran patients.</li></ul></li></ul>

While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time, walk, and lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally roll or move up to 75 pounds and move pallets of up to 2,500 pounds utilizing pallet jacks and lifts. Safely and effectively load and unload raw materials, equipment, and packaged meals in/out of warehouse or trucks/trailer using pallet jacks and forklifts.

Starting pay = $29.00/hrTHIS IS A PART-TIME HOURLY POSITION WORKING 20 HOURS PER WEEK, OCCASIONAL NIGHTS AND WEEKENDS.<img src="https://workablehr.s3.amazonaws.com/uploads/photos/585671/983eb7f60f4ca53fbabfc7be927dada5.jpg" style="margin:0px 0px 4px 4px;width:205px;height:289px"/>As an Event Facilitator, you’ll facilitate volunteers through our meal packing experience so it runs smoothly and hosts are satisfied. You’ll drive equipment and materials to and from the event in a box truck (no CDL license needed). You will represent Rise Against Hunger with hosting groups and use your outgoing personality and public speaking skills to empower volunteers to join our mission to end hunger, one event at a time!Who You Are<ul><li>You possess strong presentation skills and are a whiz at multitasking</li><li>You possess superb interpersonal skills and a passion to engage and connect with volunteers</li><li>You employ sound judgment in decision making or problem resolution</li><li>You’re able to complete tasks with minimal direction.</li><li>You’re comfortable reaching out to and securing new and potential partners.</li><li>You’re able to leverage social media as a tool to communicate and drive event participation</li><li>You take initiative to get things done, action oriented.</li><li>You are passionate about being a part of the change in the world and helping Rise Against Hunger in its mission to end global hunger.</li><li>You are comfortable working with faith-based groups of all different religions.</li></ul>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 70% Event Facilitation<ul><li>Lead volunteers on packaging procedures and adjust volunteer assignments as needed for each event</li><li>Tracking volunteer registration at events</li><li>Facilitate 4 -12 events a month </li><li>Transport raw materials and equipment to mobile packaging locations and facilitate set-up of equipment and other materials using a pallet jack and by driving a box truck</li><li>Promote at-event donations and volunteer requests</li></ul>20% Warehouse Logistics Coordination<ul><li>Receive shipments of raw ingredients, supplies, and equipment, ship finished products</li><li>Properly process all documentation including invoices, bill of ladings,  and receipts of orders</li><li>Prepare finished product for shipping: palletizing and shrink wrapping</li><li>Ensure that adequate stock of ingredients and properly functioning equipment is available at all times to meet the demands of the program </li><li>Safely and effectively load and unload raw materials, equipment, and packaged meals in/out of warehouse or trucks/trailer using pallet jacks and forklifts</li><li>Assist in the organization and sanitation of warehouse facilities to ensure they meet health and safety guidelines</li></ul>10% Partnership Development<ul><li>Connect organizations to our mission and outcomes through volunteer meal packaging experiences</li><li>Program promotion and developing relationships with supporting organizations including various religious congregations, businesses, civic organizations, schools, and community groups</li><li>Assist with marketing campaigns and local efforts to build brand awareness.</li></ul>About the Team Our Donor Engagement team leads the charge of recruiting groups who want to host an engaging meal packing experience for their members or employees. We are a team of volunteer coordinators, fundraising and donor relationship professionals with the collective goal of ending world hunger through the communities where we live. We operate a face-paced mission-driven volunteer and donor engagement program with events for businesses, faith-based organizations, and educational institutions. Must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and evenings.
