What does your company do? Job Summary The Volunteer Coach is a hands-on role that will lead athletes and provides expert instruction in their designated sport. The Volunteer Coach is directly responsible for providing the i9 Sports Experience and driving a positive youth sports culture on the field. Position OverviewThe Florida State Guard (FSG) is a volunteer force that supports the state of Florida during emergencies, disasters, and public safety events. Members of the Florida State Guard are often called to execute missions and training in austere environments. Applicants should be prepared to participate in rigorous physical activity and training.</li><li>Adhere to all other requirements and guidelines as provided by FSG authorities.</li><li>Applicants cannot be currently serving in the military, as dual service obligations could create conflicts during times of activation or emergency response.</li></ul>Training & Readiness<ul style="list-style-type:disc"><li>Completion of required onboarding.</li><li>Participation in drills, exercises, and readiness evaluations.</li><li>Ongoing training to maintain mission readiness and operational safety.</li></ul>This is a statewide volunteer opportunity. Seeking teachers, educators, reading enthusiasts, and child care professionals for the role of site coordinator at our YMCA Reads! program. YMCA Reads! is an early intervention program that targets kindergarten through fourth-grade students with a curriculum designed to bring young readers up to grade level.The YMCA READS! Site Coordinator is directly responsible for the supervision, coordination, volunteer recruitment, retention, and training of the YMCA READS! tutoring program at one of our local Elementary Schools in Pensacola, Florida. YReads is a reading program that uses curriculum-based literacy instruction to help struggling readers in areas of phonetics, sight word recognition, spelling, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. YMCA Reads! is an after-school reading intervention program for students in grades K-4, delivered on-site at local elementary schools. Coordinators are responsible for managing a site assistant, volunteers, and 40 students (20 on Mondays and Wednesdays, 20 on Tuesdays and Thursdays).ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:<ul><li style="line-height:normal">Teach phonics, sight words, and reading comprehension to children in grades K-4 in Title I elementary schools</li><li style="line-height:normal">Plan and implement appropriate daily lesson/mentoring plans and support volunteers/mentors in carrying out activities.</li><li style="line-height:normal">Program management, as well as literacy skills, volunteer recruitment and retention.</li><li style="line-height:normal">Train staff and volunteers on the facilitation of the YMCA Reads curriculum and program and best practices in literacy.</li><li style="line-height:normal">Manage volunteer recruitment and training for YMCA Reads program.</li><li style="line-height:normal"> Establish community and corporate relationships in order to promote the program</li><li style="line-height:normal"> Organize and present events and activities aimed at volunteer/mentor retention and appreciation.</li><li style="line-height:normal">Develop plans for Family Nights and communication to encourage family support of the program objectives and to build strong families.</li><li style="line-height:normal">Form relationships with the principal, guidance staff, and reading specialists at program school sites to promote a team approach to youth mentoring.</li><li style="line-height:normal">Prepare or help prepare the budget and ensure operations are within the approved budget.
