We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accounting Manager, Revenue to lead key accounting operations, ensure the integrity of our financial reporting processes, and manage a high-performing team. This role will oversee the full cycle order-to-cash process, revenue recognition under ASC 606, month-end close, and preparation of audit-ready financial documentation. The ideal candidate brings strong GAAP expertise, progressive accounting experience, and a proactive, process-improvement mindset.Key ResponsibilitiesTeam Leadership and Management<ul><li>Directly manage and develop accounting staff, including hiring, on boarding, training, and performance management.</li><li>Provide clear goals, regular feedback, and professional development to support team members.</li><li>Review team deliverables for accuracy and completeness, ensuring high-quality output.</li></ul>Revenue Recognition & Technical Accounting<ul><li>Lead and oversee revenue recognition in compliance with ASC 606, including contract review, performance obligation assessment, and revenue allocation.</li><li>Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Legal, and Philanthropy to review contracts and ensure proper accounting treatment.</li><li>Prepare technical accounting memos and supporting documentation for revenue recognition conclusions.</li><li>Monitor and implement updates to accounting standards and ensure compliance with US GAAP.</li></ul>Order-to-Cash (O2C) Oversight<ul><li>Manage the full cycle order-to-cash process, including billing, cash application, accounts receivable, collections, and revenue reporting.</li><li>Ensure timely and accurate invoicing aligned with contractual terms and funding agreements.</li><li>Oversee AR aging, allowance analysis, and bad debt provisioning.</li><li>Evaluate and enhance O2C workflows, systems, and internal controls to improve efficiency and accuracy.</li></ul>Financial Close, Reconciliations & Audit Support<ul><li>Lead key components of the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.</li><li>Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.</li><li>Prepare audit-ready reconciliations and supporting documentation, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and clear audit trails.</li><li>Serve as a primary contact for external auditors for revenue, receivables, and related areas.</li><li>Support preparation of financial statements and variance analyses.</li><li>Support treasury activities as needed, including cash flow monitoring, bank reconciliations, liquidity management, and coordination with banking partners.</li></ul>Internal Controls & Process Improvement<ul><li>Establish and maintain strong internal controls over financial reporting.</li><li>Identify opportunities for automation and continuous process improvement.</li><li>Support ERP implementations, system enhancements, and documentation of accounting policies and procedures.</li></ul>WHAT YOU BRING<ul><li>Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance</li><li>5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including revenue accounting experience</li><li>2+ years of people management experience</li><li>Strong expertise in ASC 606 and revenue recognition principles</li><li>Hands-on experience managing the full cycle order-to-cash process</li><li>Experience preparing detailed account reconciliations and maintaining audit-ready supporting documentation</li><li>Deep knowledge of US GAAP and internal controls</li><li>Experience supporting external audits</li><li>Strong analytical skills and attention to detail</li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills</li><li>Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities</li><li>Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment</li><li>High level of integrity and accountability</li><li>Collaborative and cross-functional mindset</li><li>Process-oriented with a continuous improvement focus</li><li>CPA preferred</li><li>Motivated by the Khan Academy mission "to provide a free world-class education for anyone, anywhere"</li><li>Proven cross-cultural competency skills demonstrating self-awareness, awareness of other, and the ability to adopt inclusive perspectives, attitudes, and behaviors to drive inclusion and belonging throughout the organization</li></ul>PERKS AND BENEFITS
