Position Summary The Accounting Manager plans and manages all aspects of financial, accounting, purchasing and internal control functions for the management team by performing the following duties.This position is on-site at the Saenger Theatre. Standard business hours apply, with occasional flexibility required to support events, including mornings, evenings and weekends as needed. Must maintain regular attendance and a professional presence. This role pays an annual salary of $50,000 - $55,000 Benefits for Full-Time roles: Health, Dental and Vision Insurance, 401(k) Savings Plan, 401(k) matching, and Paid Time Off (vacation days, sick days, and 11 holidays). This position will remain open until June 26, 2026. About the Venue The Arthur R. Outlaw Mobile Convention Center is a spectacular facility providing excellent meeting accommodations. It features 317,000 gross sq. ft., including a 100,000 sq. ft. exhibit hall, and a unique design with terraces for outdoor functions and breathtaking views of the Mobile River. Responsibilities <ul><li>Oversee the month-end close process, including managing the percentage of completion files for ongoing projects to ensure accuracy and timeliness. </li><li>Collaborate with the Director of Finance on financial decisions, utilizing your expertise to provide valuable insights and recommendations. </li><li>Monitor the overall accounts receivable and accounts payable system including weekly billing, collection, invoicing and payment processing. </li><li>Oversee cash handling procedures, prepare bank deposits, reconcile bank accounts. </li><li>Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly, provide recommendation on corrections and adjusting journal entries and record journal entries upon approval. </li><li>Perform various complex account analyses and reconciliation. Assist with annual external auditing and tax activities. </li><li>Perform account analysis to assist with ensuring accurate financial reporting. </li><li>Plays key role in monthly and quarterly close process. </li><li>Communicate with multiple levels, including the senior levels in the organization and escalate issues to appropriate management. </li><li>Complete event settlements, and event reconciliation. </li><li>Demonstrate flexibility and a willingness to contribute to finance initiatives. </li><li>Other duties and responsibilities as assigned. </li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>Bachelor's degree or above from an accredited college/university with major course work in accounting, finance, or business administration or a related field required. </li><li>Minimum of 3-5 years of Arena/Hotel/Convention Center accounting experience preferred. </li><li>Prior supervisory responsibility preferred. </li><li>Strong interpersonal and communication skills. </li><li>Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. </li><li>Ability to work independently and as part of a team. </li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office. </li><li>Ability to handle confidential information and be discreet. </li><li>Proven ability to work well with all levels of management, problem solving skills and ability to mentor. </li><li>Knowledge of NetSuite is preferred, or similar accounting software. </li></ul> Strengthened by our Differences.
