DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:<ul><li>Overall responsibility for performing the duties required in the Accounts Payable system for the processing of weekly, monthly invoices and check requests.</li></ul>SUPERVISION: Reports directly to the Accounting ManagerRESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:<ul><li>Organizes and performs accounts payable activities, which include coding and payment of all accounts payable invoices, check requests, and travel requests.</li><li>Communicates appropriately with vendors, managers, and employees.</li><li>Performs the duties required in the Accounts Payable system.</li><li>Processing of weekly, monthly invoices.</li><li>Processing of weekly, monthly check request.</li><li>Open, stamp, sort and distribute mail.</li></ul>The above statements are only meant to be a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by incumbents of this job. The incumbents may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those stated in this description.EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE <ul><li>High school diploma or GED; some college preferred.</li><li>Minimum one year in the bookkeeping field or accounting office.</li><li>One year experience in accounts payable.</li><li>Basic computer skill; Basic mathematical skill.</li><li>Ability to define and solve problems individually.</li><li>Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.</li></ul>Physical Demands/Work Environment<ul><li>Remaining in a stationary position, often sitting for prolonged periods.</li><li>Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.</li><li>Adjusting or moving objects up to 20 pounds in all directions.</li><li>Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.</li><li>Work is primarily sedentary in an office setting located off-site. Office hours are Monday through Friday during the day.
