The Medication Aide will be responsible for assisting in the administration of medications to residents as ordered by their physician and in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulations.Responsibilities:<ol start="1"><li>Medication Administration:</li><li><ul><li>Administer prescribed medications to residents in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and established medication policies and procedures.</li><li>Ensure accurate and safe administration of medications, following the "Five Rights" of medication administration (right patient, right medication, right dose, right route, right time).</li><li>Document all medication administrations accurately and in a timely manner.</li></ul></li><li>Assessment and Monitoring:</li><li><ul><li>Monitor residents for any adverse reactions or side effects to medications and report to the appropriate healthcare professional.</li><li>Observe and report any changes in residents' conditions or behaviors related to medication administration.</li></ul></li><li>Communication and Collaboration:</li><li><ul><li>Communicate effectively with healthcare team members to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care for residents.</li><li>Collaborate with nurses and other healthcare professionals to adjust medication doses or treatment plans as needed.</li></ul></li><li>Resident Support and Education:</li><li><ul><li>Provide assistance and support to residents with self-administration of medications when appropriate.</li><li>Educate residents and their families about medication-related information, including proper administration and potential side effects.</li></ul></li></ol> <ol start="5"><li>Regulatory Compliance:</li><li><ul><li>Adhere to all federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and facility policies regarding medication administration and recordkeeping.</li></ul></li></ol>6.      Home Chores / Checklistso   Prep & Prepare Mealso   Cleaning per schedule, checklists provided for shifto   LaundryQualifications:<ul><li>Certification:</li><li><ul><li>Kansas Medication Aide Certification (CMA) is required.</li></ul></li><li>Education:</li><li><ul><li>High School Diploma or GED equivalent.</li></ul></li><li>Experience:</li><li><ul><li>Previous experience as a Medication Aide in a healthcare setting is preferred but not required.</li></ul></li><li>Skills:</li><li><ul><li>Strong attention to detail and accuracy in medication administration.</li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.</li><li>Ability to work independently and as part of a team.</li><li>Basic computer skills for documentation and communication purposes.</li></ul></li><li>Physical Requirements:</li><li><ul><li>Ability to stand, walk, and assist residents with mobility.</li><li>Ability to lift and move supplies and equipment as needed.</li></ul></li></ul>Join our team and contribute to providing exceptional care to our residents.
