In addition to providing direct care and administering medications to residents who have orders from an attending physician to be admitted for Assisted Living care per state regulations, a Licensed Practical / Vocational Nurse is responsible for ensuring the evaluation and clinical competence of assigned nursing personnel, assisted living aides, and medication aides by participation in orientation, education, teaching and supervision of staff through frequent rounding. Ability to read, write and understand the English language in order to educate, train and supervise staff; meet with residents and their families to facilitate appropriate assessments and development of personalized care plans; utilize and train others on operational software for delivery of care documentation and record keeping; and communicate with other employees effectively.
