Job SummaryThe Residential Specialist works under the supervision of the SUD Residential Manager. The Residential Specialist will be willing to supervise client's activities in addition to crisis intervention, being available to clients when they need someone to talk to and must be sensitive yet observant in order to log pertinent information for use by other staff including counselors. Our facility provides those who are in need of intensive treatment for substance abuse issues.Shift- Full Time 3 12-hour shifts with rotating weekends.Essential Functions:<ul><li>Maintain complete and current clinical records regarding all persons served.</li><li>Provide educations to persons served, family members of persons served and other staff regarding substance use treatment, symptom management, wellness, and health.</li><li>Provide ongoing observation of persons served mental illness or substance use and physical symptoms, as well as their response to treatment, communicate any changes to the treatment team to ensure immediate and appropriate interventions are provided.</li><li>Facilitate group activities focused on mental health or substance use needs to clients served.</li><li>Provide direct supervision of clients to ensure safety and basic needs are met.</li><li>Assist clients with management of behaviors and positive behavioral interventions.</li><li>Ensure the safety of clients serviced and of unit by completing regular safety checks of clothing,</li></ul>belongings and physical environment.<ul><li>Achieve productivity goals as assigned.</li><li>Perform duties in accordance with applicable professional ethics and standards and established OhioGuidestone policies.</li><li>Comply with all state and federal laws regarding protected health information. These goals are accomplished through modeling, demonstrating, and sharing LIVED experiences by the PRS to help others.Duties and Responsibilities:<ul><li>Proactively seek to support individuals in recovery from a substance use disorder.</li><li>Services can be provided in the community, client's home, or treatment facility office.</li><li>PRS expresses understanding, support and respect for the many paths of recovery an individual client may wish to pursue. Services can be provided in-person or over the phone but not through text.</li><li>PRS must be able to drive and occasionally transport clients.</li><li>PRS must have a working knowledge of the drug and alcohol treatment system and be willing to assist the peer in accessing appropriate levels of care in consultation with licensed behavioral health clinicians.</li><li>The PRS must live a life in recovery and demonstrate a commitment to the recovery community.</li><li>Maintaining confidentiality of communication between peer and peer recovery supporters.
