Must be able to work weekends at Uptown/Metairie, and Covington/Mandeville locations as needed. The Nurse Practitioner reports directly to the Lead NP at each location. Job Duties: <ul><li>Follows established guidelines which provide medical authority when such are indicated in providing</li><li>Perform complete physical exams and assessments of patients including urgent, emergent and non-urgent</li><li>Select, order and perform tests and procedures to augment physical</li><li>Define/document differential diagnoses and list differential diagnoses with most likely diagnoses</li><li>Documents orders in the EMR (Docutap)system for tests, procedures and the implementation and management of therapies in accordance with medical nursing</li><li>Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as deemed necessary and appropriate for the plan of care, in collaboration with supervising manager</li><li>Oversees directs and supports on-site laboratory, x-rays, and injections, helps if needed</li><li>Interpret data and diagnostic results for an appropriate course of action including but not limited to blood work, radiology, EKG, in collaboration with supervising physician.</li><li>Perform such procedures as incision and drainage of abscesses, simple orthopedic splinting, pelvic exams and suturing of skin lacerations</li><li>Notate findings and treatment course in patient chart including follow-up notes.</li><li>Required to work 1-2 holidays a year with availability days, evenings, and weekends to rotate at both locations</li></ul>Required Qualifications and Skills: <ul><li>2-3 YEARS EXPERIENCE IN URGENT CARE, ER or PRIMARY CARE</li><li>2 YEARSof MEDICAL OFFICE or EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT EXPERIENCE</li><li>SUTURING(actively suturing 2 plus years)</li><li>Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a Master’s degree</li><li>Must be licensed in the State of Louisiana as FNP</li><li>Must have current APRN license in the State of Louisiana.</li><li>Skilled in traditional nursing disciplines of patient assessment </li><li>BLS/ACLS/PALS certification</li></ul>
