The EHS Specialist is responsible for consistently carrying out and promoting the EHS program of Mobis Alabama, training Team Members on applicable EHS-related matters, ensuring the company is in compliance with EHS laws and regulations, participating in audits and incident investigations, and carrying out resulting corrective actions. Required to work with, handle, store, or otherwise manage hazardous materials, and must comply with all applicable regulations established by the Alabama Department of Environmental Management (ADEM) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

Responsibilities:
Essential Functions(To perform within this position successfully, the incumbent must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.)<ul><li style="margin:0in 0in 0in 0.25in">Evaluate EHS programs, procedures, and operations for compliance with applicable laws and regulations</li><li style="margin:0in 0in 0in 0.25in">Promote implementation of health and wellness programs for all Mobis Alabama Team Members</li><li style="margin:0in 0in 0in 0.25in">Assess workplace environments, equipment, and practices to identify hazards and complete new equipment checklists</li><li style="margin:0in 0in 0in 0.25in">Ensure full compliance with EHS standards and government regulations</li><li style="margin:0in 0in 0in 0.25in">Conduct hazard and operational control process assessments</li><li style="margin:0in 0in 0in 0.25in">Recommend measures to help protect Team Members from potentially hazardous working conditions, methods, processes, or materials</li><li style="margin:0in 0in 0in 0.25in">Participate in incident investigations to identify root causes of accidents</li><li style="margin:0in 0in 0in 0.25in">Determine corrective actions to reduce the likelihood of accidents in the future</li><li style="margin:0in 0in 0in 0.25in">Complete reports and analyze incidents to identify trends</li><li style="margin:0in 0in 0in 0.25in">Conduct Safety Management Systems (SMS) audits, Environmental Management Systems (EMS) audits, and/or monthly EHS inspections and assist in corrective actions</li><li style="margin:0in 0in 0in 0.25in">Required to work with, handle, store, or otherwise manage hazardous materials, and must comply with all applicable regulations established by the Alabama Department of Environmental Management (ADEM) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).</li><li style="margin:0in 0in 0in 0.25in">Ensuring safe and compliant management of hazardous materials in accordance with state and federal regulatory requirements.</li><li style="margin:0in 0in 0in 0.25in">Train Team Members on proper use of powered industrial trucks, aerial lifts, tuggers, overhead cranes, and related industrial equipment</li><li style="margin:0in 0in 0in 0.25in">Conduct EHS orientation for new Team Members</li><li style="margin:0in 0in 0in 0.25in">Administer, coordinate, and comply with all EHS guidelines</li><li style="margin:0in 0in 0in 0.25in">Prompt, regular, predictable attendance</li><li style="margin:0in 0in 0in 0.25in">Physical presence at work during all scheduled work hours</li><li style="margin:0in 0in 0in 0.25in">Overtime and weekend work as required</li><li style="margin:0in 0in 0in 0.25in">All other job duties as assigned</li></ul>

Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications (The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required and preferred for this position.) Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:<ul><li style="margin:0in 0in 0in 0.25in">Knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations</li><li style="margin:0in 0in 0in 0.25in">High school diploma or equivalent</li><li style="margin:0in 0in 0in 0.25in">Knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 Management Systems</li><li style="margin:0in 0in 0in 0.25in">Knowledge of heavy industrial equipment</li><li style="margin:0in 0in 0in 0.25in">Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint</li><li style="margin:0in 0in 0in 0.25in">Good written and verbal communication skills</li></ul> Preferred Education & Experience:<ul><li style="margin:0in 0in 0in 0.25in">3 or more years of experience in an EHS-related position in a manufacturing environment</li><li style="margin:0in 0in 0in 0.25in">Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM</li><li style="margin:0in 0in 0in 0.25in">Registered Environmental Manager (REM)</li><li style="margin:0in 0in 0in 0.25in">Associate Safety Professional (ASP) certification</li><li style="margin:0in 0in 0in 0.25in">CPR/First Aid/AED certification</li></ul> Working Conditions<ul><li style="margin:0in 0in 0in 0.25in">30% office, 70% production floor</li><li style="margin:0in 0in 0in 0.25in">Overtime as needed</li><li style="margin:0in 0in 0in 0.25in">If an emergency occurs, TM may need to stay until issue is resolved</li><li style="margin:0in 0in 0in 0.25in">Will be required to fill in on 1st, 2nd or 3rd shift due to EHS manning shortages/requirements</li></ul>
