<p>Holt Manufacturing in Waco, Texas is looking for a <strong>Painter</strong>. This position is responsible for painting and sandblasting heavy equipment, oil field pump skids, generator packages, and related equipment in a shop environment. Knowledge of safety procedures as they relate to the use of paints, solvents, glues, tools, and equipment. Industrial painting experience is preferred. The hours for this position are <strong>Friday – Sunday 5:00 am – 5:30 pm</strong>.</p><p><strong>Essential Functions:</strong></p><ul><li>Performs painting preparation process to assure quality paint application</li><li>Operates painting or coating tools on assigned equipment to improve the appearance that results in customer satisfaction</li><li>Straightens body panels and fenders</li><li>Fills small dents that cannot be worked out with body filler</li><li>Files, grinds, sands, and smooths filled or repaired surfaces</li><li>Sands or sandblasts areas to be painted and cover bumpers, windows, and trim with masking tape or paper for protection</li><li>Primes and paints repaired surfaces with care, skill, and detail using applicable manufacturer paints and standards; details equipment</li><li>Maintains paint booth and painting equipment. Maintains the paint booth clean and in safe working order</li><li>Performs light mechanical work to replace parts (e.g. handles, hinges, panels, etc.)</li><li>Removes and applies equipment decals</li><li>Performs final checks on assembly and installation of parts that were replaced</li><li>Controls labor costs at or below quoted flat rates in order to achieve departmental goals</li><li>Completes necessary paperwork on a daily basis in order to provide timely invoicing</li><li>Maintains and controls company property and resources in a manner to ensure cleanliness and reliability, and minimizes expenses</li><li>Completes special projects as requested by the department supervisor in order to meet customer and/or business needs</li><li>Maintains and completes daily/monthly usage or material consumption reports required for EPA/OSHA; as well as procuring, supplying, and maintaining any current and new MSDS information records for all</li><li>Disposes of hazardous waste in an appropriate manner, and maintains all equipment and work areas – keeps in good, clean, and orderly condition</li><li>Works overtime as required by workload and customers’ needs</li><li>Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities</li><li>Works safely at all times and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards</li><li>Requires regular and punctual employee attendance</li><li>Performs other duties as assigned</li></ul><p> </p><p><strong>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:</strong></p><ul><li>General knowledge of tools, equipment, methods, materials, and terminology used in the painting trade</li><li>General knowledge of safety procedures as they relate to the use of paints, solvents, glues, tools, and equipment</li><li>Demonstrates basic knowledge of estimating, planning, and controlling the cost of repair jobs</li><li>Demonstrates proficiency with current computer software, related hardware, and electronic machine systems</li><li>Knowledge of safety procedures as they relate to the use of paints, solvents, glues, tools, and equipment</li><li>Skilled in the application of paints and other finishes by brush or spray gun</li><li>Quality control analysis skills to conduct tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance</li><li>Operation and control skills for controlling the operation of equipment or systems · Equipment selection skills by determining the kinds of tools and equipment needed to do a job</li><li>Ability to operate a forklift and an overhead crane</li><li>The ability to quickly and repeatedly operate the controls of a machine or a vehicle to exact positions</li><li>Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and equipment used in mechanical repair</li><li>The ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects</li><li>The ability to read, write, and understand information</li><li>The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences</li><li>Ability to learn the more complex aspects of the paint trade</li></ul><p><strong>Education and Experience: </strong></p><ul><li>Three or more years of experience in painting and/or body work in automotive or similar shop environment preferred</li><li>Industrial painting experience is preferred</li><li>High school diploma or equivalent preferred; associate degree or technical training from an accredited vocational school strongly preferred</li></ul><p><strong>Supervisory Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>None</li></ul><p><strong>Travel:</strong></p><ul><li>Up to 10% travel maybe expected</li></ul><p><strong>Physical Requirements:</strong></p><ul><li>Must be able to move objects, and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue</li><li>Frequently moves materials or equipment weighing up to 80 pounds</li><li>Constant movement and use of limbs;
