Under the direction and supervision of the Program Director or Administrator, the Licensed Nurse or Licensed Psychiatric Technician shall plan, organize and direct the clients’ nursing services of the facility. The 24-hour residential facility mission is to help clients to regain optimal functionality in order to reenter their community and live healthy independent lives. Under the direction and supervision of the Program Director or Administrator, the Licensed Nurse or Licensed Psychiatric Technician shall plan, organize and direct the clients’ nursing services of the facility. Supervision Received:The Psychiatric Technician or Licensed Nurse receives supervision and directions from the Program Director or Administrator. Supervision Exercised:The Nurse does not provide administrative supervision to employees, but may provide clinical directions to Mental Health Technicians, and Direct Care Staff. Duties:<ul><li>Participates with the Program Director and/or Administrator and other management staff in planning and implementing the nursing services program. </li><li>Serve as a liaison between the SRF and clients’ physician/psychiatric or pharmacy on medication matters. </li><li>Makes sure that proper medication control protocols are followed in the facility. </li><li>Responsible for staff education, clients’ education, and in-service training on medication management. </li><li>Conduct group/activities sessions with clients. </li><li>Participant in interdisciplinary team meetings. </li><li>Monitors processes and procedures related to medication management and compliance with industry regulations and other such duties as required by the Administrator. </li><li>Collaborate with the Administrator in tracking and monitoring all medications in the SRF. </li><li>Ensure detailed documentation of medications administered in a timely manner in accordance with DHCS regulations. </li><li>Ensure documentation and proper reporting to appropriate authorities are timely and accurate. </li><li>May assist in preparing meals for clients. </li><li>May take clients to out of facility appointments. </li><li>May act as Program Director to oversee the facility treatment and rehabilitation program. </li></ul>Educational Qualifications:<ul><li>Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. </li><li>Current license as a Licensed Vocational Nurse, or Psychiatric Technician in the state of California. </li></ul>Experience:<ul><li>Minimum of one year of full-time nursing work experience. Psychiatric nursing experience preferred but not required.</li></ul>License/Certification Required:Must pass physical health and drug screening tests and must pass criminal background check.
