As the home to the Sioux Falls Family Medicine Residency program, our clinic offers a varying patient population, a focus on education and teaching, and an emphasis on whole-patient care with the personal touch.Position Description:We are looking for part-time laboratory generalist to perform laboratory analysis in a physician's office lab. Must have good interpersonal skills to work in a teaching environment. Attention to detail and the ability to multitask are essential in this full spectrum physician’s office laboratory.Each individual performing moderate complexity testing must:<ul><li>Follow the laboratory’s procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analysis reporting, and maintaining records of patient test results.</li><li>Maintain records that demonstrates proficiency-testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient samples.</li><li>Adhere to the laboratory’s quality control policies; document all QC activities, instrument and procedural calibrations, and maintenance performed.</li><li>Follow the laboratory’s corrective action policies and procedures whenever test systems are not within the laboratory’s established acceptable levels of performance.</li><li>Be capable of identifying problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and either must correct the problems or immediately notify the directory.</li><li>Document all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory’s established performance specifications.</li><li>Education of resident longitudinally and during the Lab Medicine rotation.</li><li>Each individual performing moderate complexity testing that does not have an associate degree or equivalent must perform moderate complexity testing only under the direct supervision of a general supervisor.
