Position Overview We are seeking dedicated Direct Support Staff to provide care and support to individuals during weekend shifts in a group home or home-like setting. Staff will assist with daily routines, personal care, and community involvement, while ensuring safety and well-being. This role requires completion of all required documentation and effective implementation of goals outlined in each individual's Person-Centered Plan (PCP). Available Shifts - This position is for every other weekend (Friday - Sunday) <ul><li>Weekend 1st Shift (Morning): 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM</li><li>Weekend 2nd Shift (Afternoon): 3:00 PM – 9:00 PM</li><li>Weekend 3rd Shift (Overnight): 9:00 PM – 9:00 AM</li></ul>Essential Responsibilities <ul><li>Support individuals with daily living activities including dressing, bathing, grooming, and meal preparation.</li><li>Assist with medication administration and monitor medical concerns such as seizures, allergies, and adaptive equipment use.</li><li>Participate in recreational and community activities, including swimming and family events.</li><li>Maintain accurate documentation of services provided and incidents.</li><li>Advocate for residents and support their personal goals and outcomes.</li><li>Ensure safety and supervision at all times, protecting individuals from hazards.</li><li>Assist with household tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and minor repairs.</li><li>Attend staff meetings and complete all required trainings.</li><li>Provide transportation as needed, only when individuals are unable to do so independently.</li></ul>Training & Competencies Required <ul><li>Client Rights, Abuse, Neglect, Confidentiality</li><li>Bloodborne Pathogens/Universal Precautions</li><li>Incident/Accident Reporting</li><li>CPR (Adult & Child) and First Aid</li><li>Overview of Developmental Disabilities</li><li>Person-Centered Planning</li><li>Medication Administration/Assistance</li><li>Documentation Requirements</li><li>Daily Care Routines and Use of Adaptive Equipment</li><li>Competency in Individual’s Plan of Care</li></ul>Physical & Mental Requirements <ul><li>Ability to lift up to 20 lbs, stoop, bend, walk up to two miles, and perform household tasks.</li><li>Adequate visual and audio acuity to supervise residents and respond to emergencies.</li><li>Strong problem-solving, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.</li><li>Ability to perform basic math functions and maintain accurate records.</li></ul>Qualifications <ul><li>High School Diploma or GED required.</li><li>Valid driver’s license with at least 3 years of driving experience and no more than 2 moving violations in the past 3 years.</li><li>Current auto insurance policy.</li><li>Ability to work in a group home or home-like setting.</li><li>Strong verbal and written communication skills.</li><li>Must maintain all state-required certifications (CPR, First Aid, Medication Administration, etc.).</li><li>At least one year of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.</li><li>Must successfully complete all required training prior to placement.</li></ul>Compensation <ul><li>Hourly Pay: $13.00 – $15.00<ul><li>$15.00 rate for applicants with an Associates or Bachelors Degree and at least 2 years of experience with IDD/MH/DD.</li></ul></li></ul>This is a contract position and does not include benefits.
