As a winter 2027 FIG audit intern, you will have the opportunity to specialize in the industry of auditing financial institutions. You will go through a hands-on training program during the first week of the internship, in which you will learn how to utilize audit software programs, develop an understanding of audit procedures, and work closely with seasoned audit professionals including shareholders. Your responsibilities and experience will be like those of our first-year audit associates and is a great way to see firsthand how rewarding a public accounting career can be.Winter internships will run from January 4, 2027, until no later than April 15, 2027. Interns typically work 40-55 hours per week, including Saturdays.Responsibilities:<ul><li>Work on numerous engagement teams with various audit Shareholders, Managers, Associates and other interns to complete audits, reviews and compilations for clients</li><li>Gain exposure to 8-12 financial institution client engagements such as credit unions and community banks</li><li>Travel to client sites to perform audit engagements</li><li>Compile and analyze financial information</li><li>Test and document business transactions</li><li>Prepare and review financial statements</li></ul>Qualifications:<ul><li>Pursuing a bachelor's or master’s degree in accounting</li><li>Completion of at least one intermediate accounting course by winter 2026 preferred</li><li>3.0 GPA (cumulative and in accounting major)</li><li>Ability to take off winter semester classes (January through mid-April) and work 40+ hours per week</li><li>Work experience preferred (related or unrelated to accounting)</li><li>Strong drive and motivation to pursue a career in public accounting</li><li>Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to take initiative via work experience and/or extracurricular activities</li><li>Excellent oral and written communication skills</li><li>Proven time management skills and ability to manage multiple responsibilities</li><li>High degree of curiosity, willingness to learn, and enthusiasm</li></ul>

You will work on client engagements like those assigned to our entry-level associates, gaining exposure to a variety of industries and testing out your technical know-how. You will work alongside our senior staff and management personnel, learning from their experience as you develop your skillset.Internships are available in insurance assurance practice full-time. This winter semester internships run from early-January through early-May.How you will contribute:<ul><li>Completing audit testing on financial statement accounts such as cash, accounts payable, or fixed assets</li><li>Working with client personnel to reconcile account differences and analyze financial data</li><li>Helping to draft management letter comments and the audit report</li><li>Participating in client meetings alongside Forvis Mazars partners and managers</li></ul>We are looking for people who have Forward Vision and:<ul><li>Solid technical accounting knowledge</li><li>Effective time management</li><li>Strong oral and written communication skills</li><li>Strong computer skills preferred, including Microsoft Office suite</li><li>Ability to work well with a team as well as independently</li><li>Problem-solving attitude</li><li>Willingness to take initiative</li><li>Close attention to detail</li><li>Ability to work under pressure and against deadlines.</li><li>Intern candidates must be working toward an accounting degree and CPA licensure eligibility</li><li>Must have reliable transportation to and from your assigned office and be able to attend off-site meetings and events in person.</li></ul>Applicants for positions with Forvis Mazars must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
