Tutors are a key part of that plan and are matched to students based on specific needs, not random availability.</div><div><br/>We started as a tutoring agency in Texas, grew to 300+ tutors serving 10,000+ students, and are now launching a platform that gives educators better tools, better-matched students, and the ability to build a real client base.</div><div><strong><br/>What You'll Do:</strong></div><ul><li>Work one-on-one with students in grades K–12 to provide focused reading and writing instruction at their level.</li><li>Help students develop deeper comprehension, critical thinking, and written expression, not just complete assignments.</li><li>Build reading fluency, vocabulary, and a genuine connection to reading.</li><li>Strengthen writing mechanics, structure, and voice across genres.</li><li>Identify and close gaps in foundational literacy skills that are holding students back.</li><li>Align your sessions with each student's broader academic roadmap through SiSTEM's planning tools.</li><li>Communicate with families on progress and strategy when appropriate.</li><li>Maintain high standards of preparation and professionalism.</li></ul><div><strong><br/>What We're Looking For:</strong></div><div>We are selective about who joins the SiSTEM team.</div><div><br/><strong>Strong candidates typically have:</strong></div><ul><li>3+ years of teaching, tutoring, or academic mentoring experience in reading, writing, or English Language Arts.</li><li>Deep expertise in at least one of the reading or writing levels listed above.</li><li>Experience working with motivated students who are in honors, Pre-AP, AP, gifted, or test prep settings.</li><li>A track record of helping students improve reading levels, write with more clarity and confidence, or master skills they previously struggled with.</li><li>Clear, patient communication and the ability to make reading and writing feel accessible to students who think they're "not a reader" or "not a good writer".</li><li>Professional reliability.<br/><br/></li></ul><div><strong>Bonus:</strong> current or former ELA teachers, published writers or journalists who tutor, educators with degrees in English, education, or literacy, tutors with dyslexia or reading intervention training, or college essay coaches with admissions results.</div><div><strong><br/>Why Tutors Join SiSTEM:</strong></div><ul><li><strong>You set your own rates.</strong> And you keep 100% of what you earn.</li><li><strong>Matched with students who fit your expertise.</strong> No random assignments.
