Now's your chance to indulge in a sweet, sweet chocolate job
Valentine’s Day is coming up, so we rounded up an assortment of decadent job opportunities available right now.
No matter what your feelings are regarding Valentine’s Day, we can all agree on one thing: Chocolate is the best part, hands down.
Whether it’s in a heart-shaped box, a pint of Ben and Jerry’s Chocolate Therarpy, or a 24-layer Strip House cake, chocolate is the best gift (or the best coping method, depending on your current relationship status) when V-Day arrives.
Ahead of the sugary holiday, Monster indulged in some data to unwrap some tasty trends on the chocolate-related jobs front, and what we’ve uncovered should get every job-hungry worker licking their lips.
For one, chocolate jobs are a lot easier to find than finding “the one.” Nearly 28,000 jobs that included the word “chocolate” were posted in the past year, according to the TalentNeuron’s data tool from insights and technology company CEB. And right now, you’ll find a variety of super sweet job openings available on Monster.
For example, you can apply for a chocolatier role at Godiva or a tour guide position at Hershey’s Chocolate World, which sounds like the real-life version of Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory, minus the Oompa Loompas. Heck, you can even dress up as a character for M&Ms-maker Mars.
The data paints a picture of a job market that’s far from bittersweet, with an assortment of careers on display. The top chocolate-related jobs in terms of volume included retail sales supervisors, merchandisers, retail salespersons, and industrial engineers. But because chocolate-making is its own cottage industry, with a breadth of jobs going far beyond just the production of this tasty treat, you’ll find openings for marketing managers, financial analysts, and maintenance and repair workers at chocolate companies, too.
Monster data also identified the top cities advertising the most chocolate jobs in the U.S., with Chicago topping the list, followed by New York City and Washington, DC.
Finally, we uncovered—or, should we say, unwrapped—the employers hiring the most chocolate workers on Monster. The No. 1 company ramping up hiring in the chocolate department is Toblerone-maker Mondelez International, followed by Mars, Inc., and one of its subsidiaries, Wrigley.
So grab your favorite type of chocolaty treat and get a nice sugar rush going because we have gobs of chocolate-jobs on Monster, and you can find them all here.
