Aurora Optics develops, manufactures, and services advanced fiber optic products under contract to meet challenging performance and environmental requirements.  Areas of particular expertise include fusion splicing (single mode, multi-mode, polarization-maintaining, Er-doped, large diameter, and specialty fibers), MIL-spec mechanical fiber cable splices (MA5405/1), precision fiber cleavers, high precision automatic fiber positioners, high voltage arc fiber end processing, high performance connectors and termini (e.g. MIL-DTL-38999, MIL-DTL-28876, wet-mateable), fiber optic sensors for various physical parameters (e.g. liquid level, pressure, temperature, rotation, position), delay lines, payout packs, and others.  Aurora is the authorized service and support center for Orionics and Aurora Instruments fusion splicers.
