About Good Samaritan Society
Why the Society?
The heart and soul of who we are as people is relationships. The work of the Society focuses on relationships—relationships between staff members and those who we serve, between staff members and other staff members and between the Society and the communities that we serve. We realize that we have been called into these relationships. Acknowledging God's Spirit at work in the midst of these relationships and having faith in God's ability to carry out what we could not do alone is what gives us strength and allows us to do the work we do. If you find this kind of work inspiring, then maybe a career within the Good Samaritan Society is right for you.
Our commitment to those we serve
No matter what our personal beliefs may be, each person within the Society is challenged to emulate Jesus, as portrayed in the Bible, focusing on eight traits in particular: Love, Compassion, Honesty, Perseverance, Joy, Humility, Acceptance, and Courage. It's our challenge to discover how Jesus modeled these traits and what they mean for each of us within our daily work and relationships with others. This is our goal. This is The Good Samaritan Society Way
With more than 240 locations across the country, The Evangelical Lutheran Good Samaritan Society is the largest not-for-profit provider of senior care and services in the United States. We are honored that more than 27,000 people of all beliefs and faiths call us home. Founded in 1922, we have a rich history of faith and belief in our mission, our obligation, to share God's love in word and deed by providing shelter and supportive services to older persons and others in need, believing that "In Christ's Love, Everyone Is Someone".
The Evangelical Lutheran Good Samaritan Society is an affirmative action/equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of gender, race, religion, marital status, color, genetic information, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, veteran status or other protected status. All faiths or beliefs are welcome. © 2016 The Evangelical Lutheran Good Samaritan Society. All rights reserved.
