HIC (Herts Insurance Consultants) was born back in 1989 in a tiny office with only two people to cover the phones. The company ticked along for a few years until, one day, a young girl came into the office and mentioned that she was having problems insuring her modified VW. From that day on HIC has never looked back, and is now one of the major players in insuring all types of classic and modified cars, but still has a special relationship with Volkswagens. By working closely with insurers over the years and not being the type of company to rest on our laurels, we have used our knowledge of the classic and modified scene to build insurance products based on our customers' needs. Fast forward to today and HIC is still growing and now employs more than 100 staff at our office in Bishop's Stortford. Our state-of-the-art computer system enhances an excellent service offered to our customers, with documents issued in-house and electronically sent out. We have a 24-hours a day specialised claims team who offer a first class service dedicated to helping our customers, should they ever need it. Our online "customer portal" was born out of our dedication to developing systems that make life as easy as possible for our customers, allowing them to return documents to us at the click of a mouse.
