About Midwest Paratransit Services

The roots of Midwest Paratransit Services, Inc. began in 1995 with the creation of AC Transportation. Initially a medical transportation service, AC Transportation rapidly grew and was awarded the original Maple Grove Dial a Ride in 1996; its first Dial a Ride Service Contract. The Hopkins Hop a Ride Service Contract followed in 1998. One of the company's motto was "Focus on the person, not the disability." Using this strategy, AC Transportation developed these services into some of the best performing in the metropolitan area. The company continued to grow in the following years, adding a maintenance department, extending contract parameters to meet demand, and in 2001 acquiring Clinic Cab, a competitor of medical transportation services. In 2005 AC Transportation refocused its emphasis; spinning the Dial a Ride services off into Midwest Paratransit Services Inc., which was incorporated to focus on the public transportation industry. This allowed both companies to achieve greater efficiency and allowed Midwest Paratransit Services Inc. to take on new contracts including fixed route service in Maple Grove.
