About Southern Illinois Healthcare

The people of Southern Illinois Healthcare, a not-for-profit health care system, are dedicated to promoting the health and well being of all of the people in the communities we serve. Our mission is guided by our values: compassion, collaboration, quality, stewardship, integrity, accountability and respect. Over 3,500 employees, along with physicians and volunteers, work together to achieve our mission and ensure that the health care needs of those we serve are met. We make this a reality by treating patients in SIH facilities, offering services in rural clinics, collaborating with some of America’s best hospitals and improving our communities through our charitable community benefits programs. Our hospitals include: Memorial Hospital of Carbondale, Herrin Hospital and St. Joseph Memorial Hospital. SIH has over twenty facilities, including the three inpatient hospitals, plus two clinics, two physician office buildings, an urgent care and dedicated centers that include neurology, cancer, heart, sleep and rehabilitation in the system. At Southern Illinois Healthcare, we realize that in order to provide our surrounding communities with excellent care, we must begin by providing our employees with that same care and appreciation. We offer rich opportunities to develop and grow professionally, an environment of excellence in patient care, and the awareness that everything we accomplish is a direct outgrowth of the superb efforts and dedication of our employees.Working to put the right people, exhibiting the right attitude and behaviors, in the right roles is not just a goal, but a priority of Southern Illinois Healthcare.
