Our client in the Los Angeles/Chatsworth CA area is an Aerospace Leader in Aircraft Modifications. They are looking to hire an Aerospace Program Manager who is responsible for the cost, schedule, and technical performance of specific programs with the objective of delivering the program on schedule and on budget.

The client is willing to train the right individual if they have not had program management experience. However, the appropriate candidate would need to be a competent self-motivated engineer with ten to fifteen years of experience in the aerospace industry with a desire to enter into program management.

Key responsibilities are:

  • Directs all phases of the program through completion.

  • Create and execute the program earned value management process and program management plan for the program.

  • Be the primary program interface with the customer.

  • Manage the integrated master schedule and coordinate the activities of all suppliers - SIE (Procurement, Engineering and Analysis), Modification Center and the (Flight Test and Data Acquisition sub-contractor, if required). This includes establishing and implementing all program performance requirements, including subcontract management processes.

  • Prepares and distributes weekly status reports (or more often if necessary). Holds program status meetings weekly to communicate program readiness, technical and business issues and program risks (and mitigation plan) to management to ensure customer needs are met. Also responsible for preparing periodic Technical Interface Meetings or Design Reviews to more fully discuss technical development status and approaches.

  • Ensures accuracy and integrity of data and reporting and compliance to the terms and conditions of the contract.

  • Completes and maintain proper documentation in accordance with contractual or regulatory (FAA) standards.
