This hybrid role offers the perfect blend of remote work and on-site collaboration, with a chance to explore the beautiful state of California with a 10% travel requirement.

Position Summary

As a Journey-Level Project Engineer, you will lead the engineering and design of complex projects, exercising independent judgment and working with minimal supervision. Collaborate with a diverse team including engineers, project managers, and construction personnel to drive project success. Your role will also involve developing technical studies, providing guidance to contractors, and representing PG&E in various capacities.

Job Responsibilities

  • Resolve moderate scope problems using standard solutions
  • Independently plan work under general direction
  • Conduct engineering analyses and develop conceptual designs
  • Present findings to internal teams, contractors, and vendors
  • Conduct walkdowns and design review meetings
  • Prepare technical documents including design criteria and reports
  • Evaluate and recommend alternative project proposals
  • Review consultant contracts for technical compliance
  • Interpret and apply applicable codes and regulations
  • Participate in developing restoration plans
  • Respond promptly to facility failures in emergencies

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited US curriculum or equivalent
  • 3 years of cumulative experience in engineering and design

Preferences

  • Experience in electrical transmission line engineering for 115kv–500kv
  • Familiarity with GO 95, NESC, and PG&E standards
  • Proficiency in PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, etc.
  • Skills in project management
