    Position ObjectiveJoin our fashion-obsessed team, dedicated to a styling and social experience that makes women feel beautiful. The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in promoting a customer and product-focused sales culture, while ensuring that our values and guiding principles are at the forefront of all store operations—including sales operations, asset protection, and human resources—to deliver a great customer experience and maximize profitability.Functional ResponsibilitiesPerformance CultureAnalyze sales reports and KPIs to determine the needs of the business and partner with the Store Manager to execute in‑store business and sales strategies.Establish and communicate clear expectations, holding store team and themselves accountable for achieving brand, performance, and behavior standards.Control payroll and supply budget.Perform and oversee basic operational activities such as scheduling, shrink audits, physical inventory, opening and closing duties, time‑sheet review, payroll accuracy documents, and merchandise flow processes.Handle all financial activities in accordance with policy, including cash handling, reporting, price changes, and merchandise handling.Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, loss prevention policies, and operating procedures; conduct associate training to reinforce proper controls.Administer operational processes including inventory receipt/dispatch, daily replenishment of floor merchandise levels, and execution of physical inventories.Maintain visual presentation, organization, and facility maintenance that represent the Brand.Develop a high‑performance culture and motivate the sales team to meet assigned sales and productivity goals.Train and coach the selling team to be fluent in product knowledge both online and in store.Assist with location fulfillment and selling.Building High Performing TeamsMotivate and inspire store team, developing a shared vision while modeling core values.Promote an inclusive, collaborative approach to problem solving.Communicate with store teams and the Store Manager to effectively lead positive change.Seek personal developmental opportunities and solicit feedback to build leadership skill set.Customer ExperienceModel, teach, and promote the Most Amazing Personal Service (MAPS) principles and standards, offering a cohesive omni‑channel experience.Model sales expectations by utilizing techniques and communicating product knowledge to the customer; recommend merchandise selections or help locate or obtain merchandise based on customer needs.Ensure prompt resolution of customer concerns.Ensure a fast and efficient register experience, staying current on policies regarding payments, coupon acceptance, returns, exchanges, security practices and other applicable operations.Maintain consistent client communication through the customer book, rewards program participation, and customer‑capture sign‑up.TalentAssist in recruiting, hiring and developing a high‑performing team.Support, implement, and provide follow‑up for all training programs, seminars, etc.Assess and coach store team on performance.Resolve human resources issues in a timely and effective manner in partnership with the Store Manager.Drive associate and team engagement by recognizing and rewarding employees for outstanding performance.Ensure that store team adheres to all employment practices and policies.Other duties as assigned. This position may be found in multiple brands; some duties may vary from brand to brand.QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent.2+ years of retail management experience (preferred).Must be 18 years of age or older.Excellent verbal, written, and communication skills.Ability to learn or adapt to technology provided by the company.Proven customer service skills with a track record in all areas of sales and leadership.Strong organizational skills and ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment.Strong leadership qualities, training and team‑building skills.Knowledge of administrative aspects of store operations.Ability to communicate with customers and staff.Regular attendance is essential; flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays required.Physical RequirementsConstant walking/standing—67–100% of shift.Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.—1–33% of shift.Frequent climbing—34–66% of shift.Chico's FAS, Inc. is an equal‑opportunity employer.
