(Examiner) Cosmetology/Barber Inspector

What You'll Do:

The Cosmetology/Barber Inspector (Examiner) plays an important part at the Board. In this role, you will be responsible for:

• Administering practical and theory examinations under the scope of practice of cosmetology and barbering under sections 4713 & 4709 of the Ohio Revised Code in order for students to obtain licensure.
• Preparing examination areas for daily scheduled examinations, registering and verifying identification for admittance to examination (e.g., work permit, notification form, current valid photo I.D).
• Providing information and responding to routine and sensitive inquiries from applicants and licensees.
• Providing orientation and detailed instruction to examinees prior to and during entire examination process.
• Monitoring and controlling examination areas.
• Collecting and preparing examination materials for grading and result process.
• Securing examination materials and equipment.
• Responding to phone and email inquiries related to examination process, results and school information.

Serving as back-up to complete inspections in order to maintain inspection standards as set by the Board or in the event of an extended leave of assigned inspector

• Current licensure as a Cosmetologist per chapter 4713 of the Ohio Revised Code or current licensure as a Barber per chapter 4709 of the Ohio Revised Code AND valid driver's license.
