We are seeking a dedicated and hands-on HR Generalist to support the day-to-day human resources needs of a mission-driven nonprofit organization. This role plays a critical part in fostering a positive, inclusive, and compliant workplace culture while ensuring employees are supported through all stages of their employment lifecycle.
The HR Generalist will take a lead role in employee relations, leave management, and benefits administration, while also supporting recruitment, onboarding, and HR operations. This position requires a collaborative, service-oriented professional who is comfortable balancing multiple priorities and responding to the evolving needs of a nonprofit environment. The position has a work location in Bloomfield and includes regular travel within the state to support assigned entities.
Key Responsibilities
Employee Relations (Core Responsibility)
Serve as a trusted resource for employees and managers, promoting a respectful and inclusive workplace aligned with organizational values.
Manage employee relations issues, including conducting investigations, resolving conflicts, and providing recommendations.
Coach supervisors on performance management, employee engagement, and disciplinary actions.
Conduct exit and stay interviews and identify trends to improve retention and workplace culture.
