    Description

    Position SummaryEmployment Type: Full-timeWe are seeking a detail-oriented, bilingual (Japanese & English) Import & Export Specialist to join our Logistics & Operations team. This role is crucial in managing the smooth flow of goods across international borders while ensuring full compliance with U.S. customs laws and global trade regulations. The position will primarily focus on importing pet food products from Thailand to the U.S. and exporting to Canada.Key ResponsibilitiesManage end-to-end import/export processes, including documentation, customs clearance, and freight forwarding.Ensure compliance with U.S. and Canadian regulations (FDA, USDA, CFIA) and other relevant standards for pet food products.Maintain accurate records, compliance reports, and shipping documentation.Communicate effectively with internal teams, external vendors, suppliers, and government agencies.Liaise with Thai suppliers to ensure quality, packaging, and labeling meet regulatory requirements.Troubleshoot and resolve issues during the import/export process to avoid supply chain disruptions.Negotiate with freight forwarders and carriers for cost-effective shipping solutions.Deliver excellent customer service and maintain strong supplier relationships.Prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.QualificationsBilingual in Japanese and English (required).Minimum 3 years' experience in import/export operations (preferably in the food or pet food industry).Strong understanding of customs regulations, trade compliance, and shipping documentation.Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.High attention to detail with strong problem-solving abilities.Proficient in Microsoft Office and logistics or ERP systems.Physical RequirementsAbility to lift and move up to 30 lbs occasionally.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and travel to warehouses or distribution centers if required.#J-18808-Ljbffr
