Inventory Clerk II
The Marvin Group is a Strategic Partner for Global Alternate Mission Equipment and Sustainment. The Marvin Group, a leading defense contractor, plays a crucial role in the development and manufacturing of various systems for military aerospace and vehicles. Based in Southern California near the Los Angeles International Airport, The Marvin Group consists of Marvin Engineering (MEC), Marvin Test Solutions (MTS) and Marvin Land Systems (MLS). Marvin Engineering designs and produces military Alternate Mission Equipment. Marvin Test Solutions designs and manufactures armament Test Equipment. Marvin Land Systems specializes in the design and build of power and thermal management systems. For over 60 years we have maintained "A Tradition of Excellence", serving as a trusted source for our unwavering commitment to supporting all branches of the Department of Defense and our global allies. Our collaboration extends across a diverse array of programs and platforms, including major military prime contractors such as Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, and Raytheon.
Purpose: The Inventory Clerk is an individual contributor ensuring that the MLS' inventory is accurate, complete and safeguarded. This individual must be detail-oriented and well organized. They need strong clerical skills to help them with their organizational and recording responsibilities. This individual must treat people with respect; keep commitments; inspire the trust of others; work with integrity and ethics; uphold MLS values and is committed to company vision and mission statement.
Duties:
Accurately document the quantity and quality of inventory
Receive, unpack, and deliver goods; re-stock items as necessary; label shelves
Process and document returns to stock as required, following established procedures
Transfer inventory to its appropriate stock location the same day as received
Able to reconcile stock counts to report data
Perform physical count of inventory and perform reconciliation with actual available stock
Operate both manual and computerized inventory systems to punch in values of goods and equipment
Update inventory records with new information on a constant basis
Investigate inventory errors and perform corrective measures
Assist in conducting efficient MLS inventory from start to finish with the goal of minimizing adjustments
Prepare inventory reports as directed
Follow guidelines for proper storage and handling of all inventories, including chemicals
Maintain physical condition of all inventory locations to ensure safety and minimize loss
Prepare kits for assembly through pick lists and production routers
Adhere to EH&S and FOD policies and procedures
Able to analyze and solve problems with a proactive attitude
Able to prepare routine administrative paperwork
Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned to support MLS
Perform inventory transactions in ERP system
Support material transfer/movement between receiving, inspection, stockroom, manufacturing and shipping as applicable
Job Requirements:
High school diploma or GED
At least 3-5 years' experience in a similar role that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
Experience in a similar production and/or manufacturing environment, preparing kits for assembly working with pick lists and production routers, is highly preferred.
Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn our operating software in detail
Familiar with an integrated ERP software preferred (e.g. SAP)
Database management skills
Ability to operate a forklift, if applicable
Competency in MLS procedures and processes as identified in MLS's training matrix
