.NET FSE Sr Developer

Our Client, an IT Services and Consultant company, is looking for a .NET FSE Sr Developer for their Richmond, VA /Remote location.

Responsibilities:

• Design and enhance geospatial analytical solutions by building robust components using .NET Framework and C#.NET to deliver accurate and timely spatial insights for business teams across the organization.
• Develop secure and scalable ASP.NET Core Web API services that expose geospatial and related business data to internal applications in a reliable manner that supports critical operational and strategic decisions.
• Implement efficient data access layers using SQL to manage complex spatial and tabular data sets, ensuring reliable query performance and consistent data quality for mapping and analytical workflows.
• Configure and optimize VB.NET and .NET Core modules that integrate geospatial processing routines with enterprise systems to streamline data flows and reduce manual intervention in daily operations.
• Collaborate with product owners and analysts to translate mapping and location-based requirements into clear technical designs and implementation plans that align with business goals and compliance expectations.
• Perform detailed code reviews and unit testing of geospatial application components to maintain high standards of maintainability, reliability, and performance across hybrid environments.
• Analyze production incidents and application performance metrics to identify root causes related to spatial processing or data integration and implement targeted improvements that enhance system stability.
• Create and maintain technical documentation for geospatial services, APIs, and data models so that engineering and analytics teams can easily understand usage patterns, integration options, and maintenance processes.
• Work with cloud and infrastructure teams to ensure hybrid deployment of geospatial services is resilient, secure, and optimized for throughput while meeting day-shift service availability expectations.
• Support stakeholders by providing clear explanations of geospatial outputs, maps, and location-based metrics, enabling them to make informed decisions that benefit communities and advance company sustainability objectives.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by proposing enhancements to mapping algorithms, data validation rules, and application architecture that improve accuracy and efficiency of geospatial solutions.
• Coordinate with quality assurance teams to define test scenarios for geospatial workflows, ensuring that complex spatial edge cases and data integrity conditions are covered in regression and release cycles.
• Stay informed about emerging geospatial and .NET technology trends and recommend practical adoption paths that strengthen organizational capabilities and create long-term value for clients and society.

Requirements:

• Possess five to eight years of professional experience delivering applications built on .NET Framework and .NET Core, with strong focus on C#.NET and VB.NET for enterprise-grade solutions. Demonstrate advanced proficiency in SQL including complex joins, stored procedures, and performance tuning to support high-volume geospatial and analytical data operations.
• Show hands-on experience designing and implementing ASP.NET Core Web API-based services that integrate with mapping or location intelligence platforms in hybrid work environments.
• Exhibit solid understanding of application architecture patterns, error handling, and logging within .NET ecosystems to ensure maintainable and supportable geospatial applications.
• Display familiarity with common geospatial concepts such as coordinates, projections, and spatial relationships, and ability to work with mapping data in analytical or transactional contexts.
• Apply strong analytical and communication skills to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and explain technical tradeoffs in straightforward and inclusive language.
• Maintain commitment to secure coding practices, data privacy standards, and responsible use of location information so that solutions align with organizational ethics and societal expectations.
• Mandatory skills:
• Strong proficiency in.NET Framework, .NET Core, C#.NET, VB.NET, ASP.NET Core.
• Experience with SQL DB.
• Experience with Web API, REST, Microservices.
