    Position Summary

    Southern Hospitality Company, an entity of Southern Land Company, is headquartered in Nashville, TN is seeking a prep cook to open our new Italian restaurant, Lupo Notte. The successful candidate will be able to work independently, in a fast-paced work environment.

    The Prep Cook will assist in preparing and some cooking of the food for Lupo Notte. They will also perform other related tasks to food preparation and kitchen sanitation/cleanliness as directed by the Chef. This position requires adhering to all food safety and hygiene standards.

    Essential Duties
    • Maintains food quality, consistency, and portion control
    • Assumes responsibility for quality of product they are preparing
    • Assists Chef/Sous Chef with set-up and preparation of food items
    • Carefully follows standard recipes while preparing all assigned items
    • Understands how to properly use and maintain the equipment
    • Performs necessary clean-up and sanitation maintenance activities for all food preparation and storage facilities as directed by the Chef/Sous Chef
    • Carries clean dishes to cook's line and other proper storage areas
    • Assists with product receiving and/or storage of products
    • Full compliance with the Department of Health regulations
    • Perform other duties assigned by Chef/Sous Chef
    Qualifications, Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
    • 1 year of cooking experience
    • Experience in managing and upholding a safe working condition
    • Understanding the knowledge of safety, sanitation and food handling procedures
    • Must be dependable
    • Must be able to work well in a fast-paced environment
    • Must be able to work in a team environment
    • Ability to understand English to a level to properly understand assigned tasks
    • Must be able to take direction
    Education/Experience:
    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
    Physical Demands:
    • Frequently lifts up to 25 pounds and occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds
    • Works in non-weather high temperatures
    • Maintain a professional, neat and well-groomed appearance
