Job Description / Essential Elements: Print
Under supervision, performs a wide variety of responsible clerical duties related to the service provided by the school library and works with students and teachers who use the library resources.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
Maintains library collection of books, periodicals, documents, and other materials; assists students and faculty to obtain and locate materials; assists students in small group reading or story telling sessions; as directed by certificated staff, oversees student study sessions in library, assembles instructional kits and materials; catalogs learning materials for specific learning behavior objectives or learning styles of students; develops a dispersal and retrieval system for teachers; directs instructional aides in preparing specific instructional materials for students; selects, orders and processes books, periodicals documents, and audio-visual materials for the library collection; supervises the circulation, inventory, shelving and storing of library materials; assists students with learning tasks. Operates audio visual equipment and ensures that equipment is sent out for needed repairs, holds book fairs, assists school in textbook inventory and distribution; operates copying machines. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements / Qualifications
Graduation from high school or equivalent. One year of clerical experience and or work experience in a school or public library is highly desirable.
Appointment to this position predicated upon , proof of a negative TB test, and fingerprint clearance from the Department of Justice.
