Position Summary...

What you'll do...

We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager, Software Engineering to lead our Marketplace Platform team. As a people leader, you will be responsible for managing a team of software engineers and collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain our marketplace platform. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, a platform mindset, and experience with multitenancy and high-scale systems. Additionally, you will be expected to leverage AI tools to accelerate development andlead by example in a collaborative environment.

Our team works closely with our US stores and eCommerce business to better serve customers by empowering team members, stores, and merchants with technological innovation. From groceries and entertainment tosporting goods and crafts, Walmart U.S. offers an extensive selection that our customers value, whether they shop online at Walmart.com, through one of our mobile apps, or in-store. Focus areas include customers, stores and employees, in-store service, merchant tools, merchant data science, and search and personalization.

What you'll do:

  • Lead a team of software engineers to design, develop, and maintain our marketplace platform

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, design, and operations, to ensure alignment and successful delivery of projects

  • Develop and execute technical strategies to improve platform scalability, reliability, and performance

  • Design and implement multitenancy architecture to support multiple clients and users

  • Leverage AI tools to accelerate development, improve efficiency, and enhance customer experience

  • Mentor and coach team members to improve technical skills and knowledge

  • Foster a collaborative environment and lead by example in a global team

  • Collaborate with international peers to share knowledge, best practices, and expertise

  • Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and resource allocation plans

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards

What you'll bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field

  • 8+ years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on platform development

  • Strong technical background in software engineering, with experience in multitenancy and high-scale systems

  • Experience with AI tools and technologies

  • Proven track record of leading teams and driving technical innovation

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to take ownership of projects and drive them to closure

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities

  • Strong analytical and technical skills, with the ability to understand complex technical concepts

  • Experience with Agile development methodologies and version control systems

  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members

The annual salary range for this position is $143,000.00 - $286,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :

Minimum Qualifications...
