Join Walmart as a Staff Software Engineer to lead the design, development, and deployment of scalable platform capabilities, including infrastructure, tooling, and AI/ML frameworks. About the team:

Our team develops and maintains the Store Fulfillment Platform, a vital system supporting efficient order fulfillment across thousands of stores through automation and associate support. We emphasize scalable, cloud-native architecture and continuous enhancement to address evolving business needs. Leveraging advanced engineering practices and AI technologies, we deliver reliable, high-throughput solutions that improve customer experiences. Collaboration, technical expertise, and innovation guide our efforts to build and advance a robust platform aligned with Walmart’s operational goals, ensuring consistent, high-quality service at retail scale. What you'll do:

• Deliver platform capabilities including infrastructure, tooling, and ML frameworks aligned with roadmap priorities.
• Apply cloud-native architecture principles to ensure scalable, resilient, and agile systems.
• Lead full software development lifecycle activities including coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
• Conduct system design reviews to validate quality and alignment with architectural standards.
• Build AI-driven applications integrating ML components and automation features.
• Mentor engineers, influence technical decisions, and promote engineering best practices.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate complex problems into actionable technical requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement through data-driven practices and innovation.

What you'll bring:

• Experience with Java programming, Asynchronous Design Patterns, Kafka and Rest
• Proven expertise in cloud-native architecture, including microservices, containers, and automation to ensure scalable and resilient systems.
• Strong proficiency in software design patterns, API design, and software prototyping to deliver maintainable and modular solutions.
• Experience leading full software development lifecycle activities, including coding, testing, CI/CD deployment, and observability.
• Demonstrated skills in debugging, problem solving, and data-driven decision making to optimize engineering outcomes.
• Effective collaboration and communication skills to engage cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Commitment to engineering excellence through code quality reviews, technical mentorship, and continuous improvement.

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00 - $220,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
