    Quality Manager - Los Angeles CA area - 1909

    Our client in the Los Angeles area is seeking an experienced Quality Manager to oversee the smooth flow of Quality Assurance activities on an Aircraft Freighter Conversion project. This opportunity will initially start as a contractor role with the view to becoming a direct hire position.

    Keltia is a technical support services company providing Engineering Design, CAD Training along with Specialized Technical Recruiting services to mainly the aerospace and other industries in WA State, around the US, Canada and Europe. We have been in business 20 years in the US and 8 years in Europe.

    Position purpose/core responsibilities:

    • Expertise ensuring AS9100 compliance.
    • Coordinate with 3 QA inspectors.
    • Coordinate with vendors and interact with DAR's as needed.
    • Supervise first Article Inspection activities
    • Familiar with 8130-9 FAA Statement of conformity.
    • Apply knowledge of quality assurance standards and procedures to improve the Quality Management System and mentor employees.
    • Support production operations by establishing & maintaining expectations, standards, throughput/ Key Performance Indicators.
    • Additionally, understands prioritization of work, and evaluation of individual performance & individual employee effectiveness.

    Main Duties:

    • Responsible for managing individual process throughput within the QA team.

    • Operating and maintaining an aerospace Quality Management System in compliance with industry and international quality system requirements including but not limited to:

    • Managing and verifying requirements for Vendors.

    • Supporting Internal & External Audits and Source inspections.

    • Correcting Action & Non-Conformance Reports.

    • Inspecting and testing methods.

    • Understanding inspection methods from bench inspection to CMM & PCMM.

    • Proficient understanding of engineering drawings along with GD&T requirements.

    • Ability to understand and interpret material and process specifications.

    • Ability to understand SPC, CPK and other process controls.

    • Ensure QA inspection requirements are identified, planned, and executed.

    Required Qualifications:

    • A minimum of five years' experience in Quality Assurance.
    • A minimum of three years' experience in a supervisory position.
    • Experience in AS9100 quality system audits and establishing and maintaining internal audits.
    • Experience in managing concurrent projects.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, ability to learn supplier portals.
    • Willingness to travel when required.
    • A record of continuous professional development.
    • Adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's) and ISO9001/AS9100 quality standards.
