    Tool Design Engineer - Remote

    Our client in the Seattle, WA area has a REMOTE opening for a Tool Design Engineer with experience designing tools and equipment for Composite parts and assemblies for aircraft production. This candidate should be experienced in all aspects of the tool design process from concept sketches to implementing tools on the production floor.

    Keltia is a technical support services company providing Engineering Design, CAD Training along with Specialized Technical Recruiting services to mainly the aerospace and other industries in WA State, around the US, Canada and Europe. We have been in business 20 years in the US and 8 years in Europe.

    Responsibilities:

    • Design, develop, and implement manufacturing aids and equipment such as jigs, fixtures, etc.
    • Develop Company's tool design standards.
    • Produce easy to follow prints and shop floor drawings with strong GD&T understanding.
    • Coordinate and support tooling activities across a wide range of departments including; structural analysis, planning, vendors & suppliers, manufacturing, production, quality assurance, testing and tool fabrication.

    Required:

    • B.S. in Mechanical engineering OR substantial tooling design experience.
    • 8+ years of related experience as a tool design engineer in relevant industry.
    • Experience working with Catia V5 or later.
    • Proficiency in GD&T and common drafting practices in compliance with ASME Y14.5 & Y14.100.
    • Experience in composite manufacturing processes..
    • Experience with FEA, hand calculations, and documenting results.
